public charger ignores set charge limit

I sometimes use a public 50 kw charger at a park near me while walking the pooch. Whenever I set the charge limit to 100%, it stops at 80%. The vendor is NOT limiting these chargers and I can't figure out why the truck is not honoring the charge limit set on the screen or on the app.

Are you using the setting for a one-time charge limit?

Does the truck recognize the location, so you can set the limit?

I would suggest you include the year and model of Lightning as there were many changes between vehicles.

DC chargers cannot be saved, or have saved limits...

Plug in and start charging. On center screen, set one-time limit to 100%.

But WHY are you charging to 100%? 90% is recommended. 80% at a fast charger is common courtesy, to allow others to charge. You are tying that charger up for a long time.

I am aware of recommended limits and I generally follow them. This charged is unoccupied all the time and my walks are only an hour. This is the procedure I follow and it still stops at 80%. The vendor swears the chargers are not doing it

If you followed the steps I listed the vendor is wrong.

Prove it - show up with over 80% and plug in.
