Return to Sport, NHTSA Complaint Filed

NHTSA gets involved with SAFETY issues. This is not. Nothing for them to do.

This bug makes an uncommanded change to the braking profile of the vehicle, this is ABSOLUTELY a SAFETY issue. The issue isn't that you have to keep switching it back to Sport when you restart the vehicle, it's that AFTER you've switched it into Sport it switches it back to Normal while you're driving.

They made Normal mode [default] to cya and while this glitch use to infuriate me as my truck is also affected, I know it's going nowhere legally or safety wise (Until) someone expires because of it. Major annoyance? Yes.

Ford can roll those dice.

So this isn't the "doesn't return to Sport issue". I can drive around in Normal mode, turn off my truck. Get back in turn it on, and it comes up in Normal mode (last mode I had it in). Then I decide, hey I want to drive in Sport mode, and so I put it in Sport mode and drive off. Several minutes later while I'm driving, the truck switches itself back into Normal mode. This glitch in returning back into Normal mode happens AFTER you've started the truck, and AFTER you're back in Sport mode.

I agree 100%, I use sport mode exclusively as I live in a mountainous area and the additional regen is key. I would much rather be able to adjust the regen strength and let it be than to be switching to sport mode all the time.

Just a thought/question... on the the NHTSA complaint - the primary brake is the friction discs (with or without regen active). So wouldn't any stopping distance compliance issues need to involve the actual hydraulic brake being activated? I haven't caught the sport mode changing yet - is that only on random vehicles or will everyone be prone to see it? I guess it could be my fault since I only activate sport when i want to prove that the big Ram smokers aren't as fast as they are loud, or that random vet I want to make think "What the heck, how is that ford still with me??"
