Often when I get an update, my charge times get ignored. All I simply do is delete the charge windows in the truck and add them again. Annoying but consistent and effective workaround.

You just happened to go to a site that is compatible without using that app. That doesn't mean you can show up to any Tesla site with your adapter and expect it to work. Blind squirrel found a nut. You have to use the app to make sure that the site is available for use with non-Tesla vehicles.
I think it's a scam because
1 - Who is Toluna? Is that a Ford partner? Kinda doubt it.
2 - Anytime I see the word "kindly" anywhere it smells foreign. Saying "Kindly enable Javascript" is a MASSIVE red flag because a - "kindly" and b - javascript is ancient and a dirty filthy red light district...
