Yes, every time and even when there are crazy winds at highway speeds, it's drowned out a bit but still barely there. The sound starts when the active air damn comes down - the air damn has a built in delay so I can be going 50+ for 5-10 seconds and then suddenly the sound starts (because of the...
I'm getting a gopro and mounting it the bumper to watch what's going on (and to listen) lol. If I don't see anything or hear anything crazy I give up. Will report back!
The range extender is interesting for towing, assuming the truck still has 300 miles via battery. But if it's like most plug in hybrids where the all battery range is like ~50 miles, not interested. With all those extra systems in place to support a range extender, I'd still need to see at least...
I wanted to provide an update on this one.
TL;DR dealer ran diagnostics (looking at the wheel bearing most closely) and ultimately said nothing is wrong and the sound is just wind sound when the active air damn deploys around 45+. Ford gave me a choice to get a second opinion from another...
Is there some tow menu hidden somewhere other than under the home button at the top? That tow menu seems to be missing some features that was there before... or something.
Long story short it appears like my trailers were deleted. I hit the "default trailer" option just to see what would...
Yep - it's frustrating there aren't many out there. There's like 3 "road" A/S tires including the OEM one. There's several A/T or off road tires at 116 but they all weigh 10+++lbs more per tire. Efficiency is going to take a 10+% hit if we swap. I need every mile I can get towing our travel...
I wanted to follow up on this post since I got some good advice here. I did indeed go with getting the grill wrapped in gloss black vinyl. About 600 bux. I think it came out great!
I met all of those except no parking brake and I did kick it off manually and it worked. Did the BSM reset and then turned the truck on and let it idle for an hour before running it manually.
Yea.. I think I'm (we're) screwed for options. The math says you could go with a 115 load index tire based on GAWR and GVWR but I am sure (?) Ford cooked in some tolerances I am not aware of.
GVWR 8550:
per tire: 2137.5
GAWR Front: 3940
per tire: 1970
GAWR Back : 4950
per tire...
I'm having a noise issue around 45-48 described here: https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/humming-slight-vibration-45-48ish-or-higher.14303/
One of my options of self troubleshooting I think is to try a different set of tires. Want to keep stock wheels and for towing and payload...
I just did the combo of resetting the battery management system described in 262 and then let the truck run for an hour with the lights off. Told it to update (manually) when I got back to the truck that had idled for an hour - worked!
After reading this - I'm charging off those points right now, looks to be working great. Going to let my LVB charger finish up.. go charge the HVB to 100, then try it again manually.
Mine's been hanging for a while as well. Going to try the 12v battery charging method.
Can you charge your battery off these points or do you need to get to it directly?
Making a thread to track and log this issue and take advice by anyone that has it.
Started noticing after 3500ish miles a low, consistent humming like noise coming from the passenger side front wheel area anytime the truck would go above about 45 to 48 and would keep on making the noise no...
Talked to my usual shop today. They can do the vinyl, said PPF wouldn't stick with all the indents so needs to it must be vinyl. Said it'll be 600-800 bux depending on how long it takes. I mentioned being able to take the grill off to make it easier and they said they already have diagrams for...
Great advice - I found the video you're talking about - yea you just remove a bunch of plastic clips and a few easily accessible screws and it's out.
Looking at some other therads - I think something like gloss black xpel PPF could probably do the trick for the grill. Think it'll look pretty...
@F150ROD @Pioneer74 -- Thanks for the advice. You mean instead of having it repainted have it vinyl wrapped instead? Or did you mean paint and then put PPF on top?
Does anyone have experience with this - do you need to take the frunk/grill front off to wrap it? I probably should start...
Long story short, using the unlock door code the frunk opened unexpectedly in the garage while up against a wall... rubbing off paint while trying to open.
Anyone have advice on touching this spot up or am I doomed to pay 6000-9000 dollars to get the whole frunk repainted or something?
