  1. CSP 25B08 - Trough assembly replacement and repair

+1. Especially after living with the Mach E pano roof during long Winter drives and watching traction (HV) battery power drain its mileage by cabin heat continuously dissipating through that pano roof. Never again a glass roof on any EV I will own.
  2. T-Boned Today. Is It Totaled?

FYI my old Mach E's blown front motor (warranty fix) cost about $5,800+ or so for parts and labor. I happened to see the dealer-to-Ford warranty invoice.
  3. T-Boned Today. Is It Totaled?

Based on my past adventures with the Mach E, the red fluid on the ground is likely Ford Motorcraft Mercon transmission fluid, also used in Ford EVs to cool the guts of the electric motor(s). If Mercon leaked out, the integrity of the front motor's inner seals is broken... i.e. "new motor".
  4. Ah summer is here in the valley of the sun

So today during this pretty savage heat dome event I drove around 5 p.m. here in Northern Virginia on the I-95 freeway and some feeder roads in heavy late afternoon workday day traffic for about 25 miles. For the 1st time ever since I've owned this truck (58+ thousand miles), the battery temp...
  5. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

When I was installing the 20 cent (four nickels, two per side) stiffener mod under the two springs that hold the work surface open above the console when it's opened. A mod by CTUAN.
  6. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

...and I find Your post based on self-reported high school data, a year or two out of date :ROFLMAO: In my high school days which have continued on to 2025, we treated and continue to treat our cars as Slurpee cups, as illustrated by the "sharing is caring" spirit. It's just a car. Unless...
  7. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

Agree - although that would definitely constitute a prosecutable crime. Let's remember that these things exist for many scenarios, not necessarily only the Zombie Apocalypse maximum-fear scenario. To wit: - hotel valet - dealership service(s) - keep stuff like temporarily confiscated...
  8. How to lower the headliner on a 24 Lightning?

There is a Ford Corporation diagram for official modifier shops floating around on this forum (where, I can't of course recall) that has the NO DRILL and the BE CAREFUL WHEN DRILLING areas blocked out in red and yellow colors. It shows most of these areas around the traction battery and its...
  9. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

I understand the function is available as an option although with a different physical system, some sort of an applique solution onto an already built B Pillar.
  10. Stick to Rotary Shift Knob Conversion w/ 3D Printed Rotary Shifter Holder

Ahh... it must be "checking for a failsafe" or something.
  11. Stick to Rotary Shift Knob Conversion w/ 3D Printed Rotary Shifter Holder

...and THIS feature is an important one, for reprogramming a fob and for starting the car / truck with the fob's proximity feature if the 12V battery is dead..
  12. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

Yeah I love the door keypad, unfortunately now deleted for the 2025 models as reported here. More to the point... so do the teenagers and the preteens who often travel with me to campgrounds and parks in the Summer. They all just LOVE the keypad... access to the frunk and to the cabin at the...
  13. Locking the rear seat in the down position

I checked when I bought my truck and on inspection, noticed the space on the seat under-frame with no lock cylinder. This lock cylinder is now an option, just like the spare wheel lock - and both lock cylinder options can be bought with a random key, or for a bit more $$ can be bought blank and...
  14. Reflections on the State of DCFC Charging in the US

Haha... I'm about to do the same from NYC to at least Western Colorado with (another) 14-year old nephew who's flying in next week for a 41-day Lightning camping adventure. I did a six-week cross-continent trip in the Mach E with another 14-year old nephew two years ago. They've all lined up...
  15. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

That is true. Likewise a grinder battery tool can cut open a door, and a hammer and a blanket can reasonably quietly bust a window. I'm sharing info about a likely little-known lock inside our cab (that btw we had all already paid for), and not advocating for any Ford lock's absolute security.
  16. OEM built-in center console lock... Who Knew? (I certainly didn't know)

Folks, While trying to install the DIY double-nickel spring stiffener mod on the center console "desk" today, I took a good look at the pivoting armrest / desk surface. On its front lip where the push-to-open console box latch is, I saw a mysterious slot. Could it be? YES it is! it's a...
  17. Lightning Software Updates using FDRS

I wonder whether this is affected by coding differences between the 15-inch screen trucks and the 12-inch screen trucks.
  18. Manual Nav Update - Tesla Superchargers

After owning the Mach E and now the Lightning for a total of almost 130,000 miles, I just discovered an amazing thing in the Ford NAV (which I use as a preference for navigation and charging): Rather that searching for Tesla Superchargers under the CHARGERS button, where only a small minority...
  19. Stick to Rotary Shift Knob Conversion w/ 3D Printed Rotary Shifter Holder

Yeah I guess I meant to write "Escape".
