That's a good idea. I might take that design and modify it for the door. I've got short arms, so reaching across to the glovebox would be a little tricky for me.
Update: I called the dealer to get an update because I hadn't heard anything for a couple days. They still don't have a solution, and the EV tech that was working on it yesterday is off today. They said that there is a regional specialist that they hope to see in the next couple of days. So...
I'm still waiting on my Ford adapter, so maybe when that one comes in I'll size it up next to the A2Z and see which one is more suitable for a door dock.
Yes, I have one of them. Here is a picture of the old one in its case. I've since received the new one as part of the recall. You can see the size difference between the old and the new. It's an annoyance to unzip the case all the time (first world problems), but I don't like the adapted sitting...
I was thinking about making an insert for the driver's side door bin that would hold it and keep it from rattling around. Tesla has a "dock" for their J1772 adapter, which I thought was a rather logical idea.
I got a call from Ford Canada customer service yesterday. They are following the repair work and acting as a liaison. Basically, they are stumped. The dealer is working with Ford Engineering and running a bunch of tests. No ETA because after one full week, they have yet to even diagnose the...
Interesting, do you by any chance have a few more details that I can pass along? It’s hard to convince the service guys that some other guys on a forum said “such and such” is the problem.
Since last Wednesday the 8th, my truck has had a strange issue that the dealer has been unable to fix. So far, the problem seems to be triggered by preconditioning the cabin through the Fordpass app. Basically, the truck is completely immobilized. Accessories will come on, but the truck cannot...
This is a funny thread. There was a notice on the other forum that Ford would no longer be monitoring that account. I wonder if the old guy got canned and no one else wanted to spend the time scouring the forums.
Well, we are supposed to be getting a few more fast charge stations in Nova Scotia. One Electrify Canada in Amherst, a Tesla station in Truro and a Bayside Renewables between Antigonish and Port Hawksbury. This brings much needed infrastructure to this stretch of the Trans Canada highway which...
When I was in Calgary a few months ago I saw a lot of Teslas but didn't notice many other EVs. Is that the same in Edmonton? I get the impression in Calgary that people think EVs are going to take their jobs away. They seem to be a difficult sell out there. Not great EV infrastructure, but...
The problem is simply not enough charging stations. If you consider how many gas pumps there are in terms of a ratio of pumps to ICEs, and sometimes you have to wait in line for them, then there needs to be closer ratio of plugs to EVs to achieve a comparable level of service or convenience...
That's what it used to be like in the early days with Tesla drivers. Everywhere you went, all the charging station were taken up by Teslas, despite them having huge batteries compared to anything else at the time. Also, they never checked in on plug share. I kind of feel like we're getting a...
It irks me a little that they don't give any priority to newly purchased vehicles. My truck faulted out the first day I owned it, and it spent a month in the shop. No rental, no loaner, no nothing. It seemed that once they had my money all the niceties went out the window.
