I agree YMMV.
One thing about my bolt that I didn't consider is that it has 70k miles.. I bought it 1.5 years ago so maybe I have some battery degradation as well which obviously would change my opinion a bit. Regardless it will be sweet when I get the upgraded replacement from chevy!
My bolt with 238 EPA gets under 200 miles when driving 70+mph..
The edmunds test isn't a highway test. Its a 60% city driving 40% highway driving. Of course an EV will hit or beat their numbers on that type of test. There is zero chance the Rivian gets 315 miles of range going only highway...
My dealer doesn't know which wave, he just told me. I am #8 of 600+ in cali.. Pretty sure I am in the first 1000 to order at the reveal, but not sure. Hopefully wave 2 if only one actually goes out to each dealer for the first
Do we know what the earliest time stamp for reservations was? Mine was 7:01PST May 19. I am wondering if it will go by time stamps or where you are per dealer. Hoping for wave 1!
The order playbook shows less than 5% of trucks they produce will be the Pro.
It's been well documented that reaching 15-20k total production for 2022 would be a good goal for ford. (If that) So if they can manage 20k lightnings then there could be between 500-1000 pros mode. According to the...
Keep in mind ford is only making around 500 pro models next year.. So if your not someone who put a deposit down during the presentation it will be years before you can get one
Not only this, but Fords whole presentation about lightning starting at under $40k doesn't even exist. They are making less than 5% of the Pro model available to retail consumers. Eff you ford for this huge bait and switch.
If I can't get a Pro I will most likely get a Rivian. It's just way better at $67,500 with 315 miles of range than anything Ford has to offer. Not to mention Fords tax credit might be going away by the time I can get one.
Yeah that would be great except ford is making less than 5% of them pros. So basically in all of 2022 there will be around 500 pros made for retail. Good luck getting one.
I fully understand that with the mach E Ford has underpromised and overdelivered for range. The 90kw battery is massive in the Mach E for how small and aerodynamic it is. Compare that to the 98kw battery in the standard Lightning and it won't even come close to the Mach E. I hope ford pulls off...
This is just wrong. A truck that big and boxy will have a very hard time beating the 230/300 with the announced battery capacity. I think it gets the rated range if you stick to 50-55mph but once you hit 60-65mph it will have a hard time getting 250 on the extended pack. 70mph+ and the range...
This seems to be incorrect. According to the document over 70% of the trucks ford makes will be platinum or lariat EXT range batteries. Less than 10% will be a pro.
I am curious about the same thing. I am on my 4th EV and I have a hard time believing the lightning will be close to the R1T in efficiency.. So my guess is the extended range battery comes in at 280 miles EPA. Maybe 215 for the standard. Its a large and boxy truck, I would be surprised if...
The moderator said that the pro model will come with a key fob and key switch to start it (no start button) - huge miss by ford if that's the case. This is an EV not an ICE car from the 80's
If those prices are correct I will be pretty frustrated. Pro in fall 2023 for $56,410? Maybe they are only making Extended range batteries for the first couple years plus a price increase? I hope its just random numbers that they put in there. $69k for the XLT has to be wrong.
