I agree with you, that's just not what the rep told me. Maybe he was off, but he knew what he was talking about with everything else. If the standard range is 100kwh usable then they will have a very difficult time getting 230 miles out of a charge
If a ford rep said that towing doesn't really affect range much then they are completely clueless. A small 5000lb trailer will cut the range in half there's just no way around that.
I was at a ford event and the rep told me they are targeting around 130kwh for the battery size of the extended...
Interesting that this atlas blue spotted in the wild has a combination of pro, XLT, and lariat trims on it. Handles/rims are pro, bumpers are XLT, and the light bar is Lariat
Darren Palmer said that in his inside ev interview I believe it was. I would also think that with the chip shortage the Pro is by far the easiest to make. Pump them out ford!!
I am just relaying what a ford employee told me. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about. Rivian also has 4 motors so they could be similar in efficiency
At the fontana event I asked a ford rep about battery sizes.. He told me that:
Standard range battery will be between 90-100kWh
Extended range battery will be around 130kWh
These are usable figures and make sense to me if the the lightning can achieve 2.3m/kwh (similar to the R1T)
I would like to know more about this. Hypothetically lets say as an example:
Model X averages 3.5miles/kwh but when towing 5000 lbs that number gets dropped in to 2m/kwh.
F150 lightning averages 2.5miles/kwh but when towing 5k pounds that number goes to 2m/kwh
So the ford which has less range...
Agreed the antimatter blue might be my favourite color.. However I believe would still have all the same issues as a black one in terms of keeping it clean
Yeah that's why I got black as well. There is also the option of painting or maybe wrapping the bumper to match any color you want. The white truck with black bumper is the worst looking in my opinion
