It works great with AA for me. No lag at all. Watched Disney+ for an hour straight while charging this past weekend over AA on the big screen. Although I will say, the screen in the Lightning is not that good for watching streaming anyway because of the aspect ratio. I wish they designed it to...
The reality is the reason for all of these limitations are the same - money grabs.
Ford is not even coy about it. If you listen to Jim Farley's remarks, Ford plans to make 50% or more of its revenue from add-on services over time. This revenue is very juicy for car companies because it is a...
This is really cool. For the shower I would recommend a portable propane shower. I have one and they work fantastic and can run off a tiny refillable camp stove cylander. Yes it is not electric but you really don't want to be burning your battery heating water IMO.
I have remarked on here previously how annoying I found it that the Lightning does not have walk-away lock, so I set about making it work myself. I have had this setup working for about a week now, and it is pretty flawless.
Requirements
- An Android phone set up for PAAK - I am 99% sure this...
OK, so I finally got around to working on this this weekend, and it was quite the adventure.
First thing I did was totally remove the speaker. This was harder than I thought it would be based on descriptions here.. it is a tight spot to get a wrench into to remove those two bolts. I eventually...
They are indeed very hard to get depending on the market you are in.
Not everyone wants to spend thousands of dollars shipping vehicles across the country.
Until you can walk onto any dealership lot in the country and buy one and leave the same day - like you can with any other high-end...
If you already have a subpanel and don't have solar... why don't you just save the $5000+ and get a manual transfer switch ($100 or less) and plug it into the 7.2 KW inverter in the truck?
Check out my post #37 and post #45
This is a setting. Vehicle > Lighting > Welcome Lighting. PS - if yours works reliably that is a good thing. With mine and PAAK, it only seems to work inside my garage :/
I don't think any of these numbers are worth the paper they are written on. These trucks are still very hard to get. People are still selling ~ 1 year old trucks at a profit. Ford still has not opened up volume orders. It will be quite some time before these start to depreciate significantly.
I thought of another feature I desperately want - ability to configure the sunroof visor to auto-close when you leave the truck (to keep it cooler), and auto-open when you come back. I do not need the sunroof open when I am not even there.
I get what you're saying - but in all likelihood the drain from all of those lights and modules is going to be absolutely inconsequential.
Here are what use major energy in your truck
- The drivetrain
- The heaters
- The Inverter (when in use)
- HVDC Battery management system
- Headlights...
Can't you do this today?
I just tried in mine, and I can get out of the car, lock it, and the onboard power is still on. Yes, car has to be "running", but you can lock the door when its running.
Are you saying it times out after some duration?
Er... how about letting the driver choose what they want to prioritize?
You could do this pretty easily with Android Auto and Tasker or Automate on your phone. Or if you have a Samsung it is built in.
Yeah this thread is confusing but I am actully talking about the backup sound, which comes from the pedestrian speaker. The issue is, that one speaker does two things... the low-speed UFO sound (which is a low frequency) and the backup garbage truck beep (which is a high frequency). The concern...
What's stopping it?
As a software engineer - I can tell you, it would be pretty trivial to do if they would just prioritize it. The hardware is already obviously capable, seeing how you can live-stream all the cameras simultaneously while driving. All that has to be done is grab those frames...
