I got mine. Hopefully in 20 years when I am ready to get another truck, the latest lightning will be a huge improvement. Until then, I prefer delays and mediocre improvements.
Great Post. I appreciate Farley's frank response.
So theoretically if we don't like something about an update, we should be able to revert back to the previous version?
It probably means it takes two years to revise the regulation to make sure when you have a head on collision with that...
What do people with Battery Module replacement think? Did you consider going back to ICE at the time of trouble? How about after some time passed?
As of now, with no real reliability issues, I am sold on EVs and can't see myself going back to ICE. I am not sure what I would be thinking if...
It seems like it can be any cell in any module going bad at anytime requiring the module holding that cell to be replaced. That makes it like playing Russian roulette every day for a lot of us if not all. Makes me appreciate any day that truck works without showing me the wrench (The bird in...
I wonder how many of them are charging with the 250 kWh credit. After mine ran out, I looked for a supercharger first (while I had the Tesla membership).
I think BMS with -AC or -AD after MK3T-10C652- are bad and any others like -BA are OK.
Keep in mind there are a lot of things like the light in the center console stay on for a while after you turn off the truck and different modules turn off at different times.
And you can take the scanner...
Yup, power in the back opens up all kinda options. Then again, depending on how often you use that heat/AC unit, cost of that unit could make the case for a few nights in Hilton instead ;)
been a while but your post is getting me excited about getting back out there.
Thanks for sharing the...
Great post. Any complaint about the tent? Anything you particularly like about it (the reasons you picked it over others)?
This guy used it but want to go back to ground tents (min 11:11):
This is my first new ride as well. I miss the freedom and peace of mind that came with driving the crappiest piece of junk on the road. Once I got rear ended by a youngster in another crappy car. He was about to have a heart attack because he knew his insurance was going to go through the...
This is very helpful. Thanks for sharing. It is good to know that it does not leave you stranded. Did you have your CSPs/Recalls done before it happens?
Now I see why my papa told me say no to crack. Cost of the labor alone can kill you. I see why insurance rates are going through the roof.
Would you have it done if it was out of pocket?
My lightning replaced a 20 year old Nissan Frontier that was in great running condition when I got rid of it. I never did any major work on it. I took many trips over 2000 miles with the wife’s subaru when it had over 100K on it with full confidence it would get us back home. I owned a lot of...
Sorry for the accident. Glad everyone was OK.
The reason I asked was to see how old the batteries were by year and not by cycle.
I have never owned a Toyota product but if my truck gives me a lot of headaches and Toyota has a good EV by then, I may give it a shot next. So far my...
May I ask how long it took to hit 200K for each?
Almost anything with lithium ion battery with that kind of age loses most of its value. Not necessarily because of battery but because the technology for most devices that use that kinda battery improves considerably in a decade. And sometimes...
