Randomly had a message that an update was performed, looks like it installed 4.2.1 and also fixed the app communication at the same time. Guess we'll see how long it lasts.
I received 4.2.1 on March 3rd after having disconnected my battery and I can say that I have not experienced a modem disconnect since. It had been happening 1-2 times per week since getting my truck back in late November. Crossing my fingers it is fixed for good.
The 4.2.1 that was released today contains a fix for the FordPass connectivity. Others that have already recieved the 4.2.1 have claimed they recieved another 4.2.1 update today.
I must've accidently responded directly to your post vs adding a reply to the thread.
The new UI has nothing to do...
I received 4.2.1 fix today. Mine has been disconnected since 3/4. I never reset it as I was tired of doing so. I still was able to get the update. I do have it set to connect to wifi at home and I am guessing that's how it came through. Everything is working now. Hopefully it stays that way.
I'm not a qualified Ford engineer/technician but my understanding is you now have the connectivity fix, which would render the visit pointless.
Lucky for me I had another issue when I had the TSB done, so it wasn't a complete waste of my time. I can say that after the TSB was applied I again...
Nice!
While the TSB helped you the actual solution is the 4.2.1 update that is rolling out to all trucks. Most of you have already recieved it. The original post was mostly to notify those who haven't reset their connection to do so so they could recieve the update.
Pulling fuse 32 worked for me to restore connectivity and the next day the 4.2.1 Power Up update arrived OTA. I had previous had updates performed by dealer service department for TSB 23-2050 which had greatly improved the issue (previously ~4 days between restoring & losing connectivity) as it...
If you have not already tried this, drive your SOC below your preferences [90%], delete the location based charging profile, then create a new entry the next time you need to charge. Hopefully this resolves the issue. If not stay tuned for further updates and try using the one time temporary...
...it and reset the BMS again. At that point the truck reported 100%. Since then it has consistently stayed above 80% and today I got the 4.2.1 OTA.
I suspect that all of the disconnecting and reconnecting to clear the modem is confusing the BMS. Fully charging and resetting the BMS seems to...
...at 90%. After 15 minutes of conversations they came back and said that their Engineers are aware of the glich and that it may of been caused by 4.2.1 updates and they presently working on it.
In the interim they suggested to set the one time charge to 90% (or what ever you want choose)...
