OK, well that at least makes me feel better about a THIRD module dying when I'm not near home. I hadn't realized that was the reason for this CSP. I was worried about another "stop safely now" message while out of town, for whatever reason.
When my first module died in February, I got the "stop safely now" message and reduced to 20% power. I had a bad Cell 1 replaced at that time. Last week Cell 2 went bad but it only derated to 57% and gave a "service soon" message. So, was the purpose of this CSP to allow the truck to continue to...
Just got the message from the dealer confirming Cell 2 has now failed and needs to be replaced. Honestly, this is fucking bullshit. If I didn't love the truck so much I wouldn't be so pissed. @Ford Motor Company owes it's early buyers a full battery replacement with cells that aren't going to...
Do we know how common this is yet? I just got this for the second time today. I had a module replaced earlier this year. Time for round two...too bad because everything else about this truck is perfect. There's no way I would ever keep this truck beyond the battery warranty period when one of...
I had only been to that EA once and it was surprisingly difficult to get to from the highway considering how close it appears. The SC in Tyngsborough is the most convenient to getting off/on the highway, even moreso than the EA across the street at the mall (which can often be full). You can...
Don’t forget, it’s more time efficient to drive faster and charge more often. The lower efficiency doesn’t mean you’re getting anywhere slower. It only means it costs more to get there. People have a mental block around stopping but compared to driving 60mph and charging 20% less, you don’t make...
I’ve never seen 1.4 mi/kwh for a trip over a few miles long in warm weather and i regularly drive *over* 80 on the interstate. I’m guessing there was a pretty good headwind. For a 50 mile trip with only 35 mi on the interstate I would expect to see 2.0mi/kwh for the trip.
This is why I pre-ordered the A2Z adapter in December of 2023. This was always going to be what happened. There was no other outcome. I’ve solely been using Superchargers since the network opened to Ford.
I will say that I *like* bluecruise but even so I still don't use it often. Even when I have the opportunity to use it I often forget about it. It's just not a game changer. It's a slight evolution on cruise control, which has been standard (or part of an option package) for decades. It's not a...
I'm genuinely curious how many people would pay $500/yr for this. I'm usually an early adopter and not hugely price sensitive (I bought an freaking $80k truck, right?) but $500/yr still seems wildly overpriced for this technology.
I’ve been dealing with this for a long time. Probably almost a year now. It happens maybe 10-20% of the time I get in the truck. I go to the “phone list” and toggle between Bluetooth and CarPlay. That solves it 100% of the time. It’s an annoyance but not the end of the world.
I received the A2Z prior to the SC network opening and have use it...once. It does have the sticky lock issue but it worked. Nice to hear they addressed that so quickly. Good for them.
Likely just figuring out how many people they need to push to August, or later. Looks like they've delivered somewhere around 7000 in three months...but expect to deliver 100K+ in the next 4 months? My math ain't as good as it used to be but those numbers don't add up.
I guarantee they are making margin on the vehicles. These doom and gloom articles are all about applying the cost of long term investments to initial sales. I'm not reading the article but I seriously doubt they mentioned what the contribution margin is for the vehicles.
