  1. Lightning Commuter 10,000 miles in 5 months.

Wow, $5. I live in Virginia and gas here is around $3.15 and in Delaware it is not hard to find under $3. (Unfortunately, there are some stations that will happily charge you a lot more, but it is easy to bypass those.) Recently the price of gas in my area is dropping like a rock. I...
  2. 2025 Ramcharger Announced

It's funny. People don't like EVs and want you to not like them too. If someone likes an EV, or they don't like an EV is no skin off my back. Wanting me to dislike an EV because you don't like an EV is the definition of ignorant. Live and let live.
  3. 10000 Miles in the middle of Montana

There's is only one word for this thread: Great !!!
  4. 2025 Ramcharger Announced

I had a volt. Same type of setup. Every now and then you will be forced to burn gas and then add some to keep the gas fresh, and to simply run the engine. It's not too often and not too much of a headache.
  5. 2025 Ramcharger Announced

Ram 1500 are great pickups. I owned a Volt with the same type of batter/ice charger; it was a fantastic combo. My choice only: the 145 mile range at 100% figuring 90% usable, and then for weather and degradation over time the battery does not give me what I need at this time...
  6. 2024 Mach-E to Lose EV Tax Credit. Any News on Lightning?

I don't trust anything on 'social media' because most of the information is written by people as dumb as me. The big difference is: I tell people I don't know what I'm talking about.
  7. Aluminum Cable from meter to 100amp charger?

This is my experience. Not suggesting anything, just providing my experience. Had the FCSP hard-wired directly from my main panel to the FCSP. Sunrun installed an open lock on the breaker. The breaker could not be turned off/on with the lock, the breaker was locked for power to the...
  8. Surprise, i got sent a Ford Charge Station Pro?

I have the FCSP. The charger part has been without issue. I like that it charges twice as fast as a 40 AMP. I did need to return my first charger. Seems some of the chargers had poor wi-fi panels. Did not impact charging. I used SunRun for installation. When I got the new charger...
  9. Aluminum Cable from meter to 100amp charger?

I used 100% copper to my subpanel and 100% copper to my FCSP. I have no issues. That's all I know. I do like that "I have no issues" and would do it again.
  10. Dealer crashed my Lightning

It is not for the dealership to decide diminished value or not. Call your insurance company too, but only after you speak to an attorney. All states, that I know, have a "lawyer referral service" and for a very small amount an attorney will talk to you about your options. I used the...
  11. Ford will postpone about $12 billion in EV investment as buyers become more cautious

I do stand corrected. I read that pickup sales where down. When I read your post I wanted to get the numbers. I got real numbers from a reliable source and I found that pickups sales overall are not down. Some companies up and some down, but overall sales are good.
  12. Flashing amber lights when charging

I have seen videos on this forum users that installed the 80amp FCSP by an electrician that did not use pure copper wire. I saw in the video when the wire was replaced all was fine. I had SunRun install. Maybe cost too much but my charger has been perfect for a year now. I hope this helps.
  13. ForScan HVB capacity number…should I be concerned?

I have a Platinum. Suppose to be 300 mile range. I was planning a trip this weekend and put the truck to a 100% charge (first time) and the range was 328. The weather was 75+ and below 85. I bet with cold weather the max range will be 275. Every EV owner learns their vehicle over...
  14. Ford will postpone about $12 billion in EV investment as buyers become more cautious

I don't wish to get political here. I apologize in advance to Moderators. The Federal Reserve Board has WAY TOO MUCH power to be appointed and if not elected, should be open to recall every 2 years. Two percent inflation is great if the FED has not put you out-of-work.
  15. Frunk only opens 9 inches / doesn't fully open

I have this same issue. Out of the blue it started doing this. Weird. I manually lift it to the max height and try to reset per instruction. No success yet. If either of us finds the fix let's post it here.
  16. Changed to Tremor 18" wheels

I am watching and waiting for Airless tires. If so, I will jettison the spare/jack and anything else tire related. Few years away still. Likelihood of having a truck Airless is minimal, but could happen.
  17. 18" vs 20" OEM Wheels for Battery Range

My wife and I drive 150 miles often, 95% highway. Keep to 5 mph over the limit max, and we always exceed range by 10% or better -- regardless of weather. Our trips speeds are between 60 and 75 mph. It is so much easier, for us, to just cruise and chit-chat, and not rush.
  18. Ford will postpone about $12 billion in EV investment as buyers become more cautious

I got a first year Prius (aka, Turtle Car) when they first came out. Totoya could not give them away for a few years. People said that the battery was unsafe. I did not care. I do not even care enough to say "I told you so." I care about family opinion only a little. Everyone else...
  19. Ford will postpone about $12 billion in EV investment as buyers become more cautious

I never hear anyone whine about a 2 million dollar personal airplane, or a 125K Corvette. Makes me think that whiners don't like EV cars. I don't care, I got a life to live. I'm sure many horse and buggy owners looked at the Model T and said: "I don't like it." Do you think gas stations...
  20. Ford will postpone about $12 billion in EV investment as buyers become more cautious

Why does an old EV leave you at the mercy of Ford? Please provide context for old ICE vs old EV?
