@Jim Lewis I work at a dealership that works out of a 9-story 550k sq ft building with columns and tight spaces everywhere. When roadside brings in a car that is not running, our drivers make it work in MUCH tighter spaces than what you showed in the pics. That I would not be concerned about.
I don't think the BMS is any different here than it is in my truck. I know a few Mach E guys have put a bigger battery in their cars, so I don't why you guys wouldn't be able to.
The trick is, make sure the new battery is fully charged when you install and reset the BMS as soon as you install it.
Once you get FDRS set up and you read the VIN from the truck, you'll click the toolbox tab (circled) and this is what you'll see. Next, click the BCM (circled).
Once you click the BCM, you'll see this screen below. Look for the BCM vehicle inhibit reset app, and click download to the far...
Factory reset I doubt will do anything. If i were in your shoes, I would have taken it out of inhibit mode immediately. I wouldn't even have wasted my time calling the dealer or Ford.
Did you attached the charger to the battery terminal directly on onto the BMS sensor? It is supposed to go on the BMS sensor. I don't have a pic to show you since my truck is different. Right now, it is showing it has only gone up by 2%.
Once you fully charge the battery, I think performing a...
Actually, the driving the truck method is not the best way for EV owners. The post below is from one of the admins on the Mach E network. Very knowledgeable guy who has researched the crap out of these types of things. His tips and tricks for EV owners with low 12v battery issues and updates is...
@Lightning Rod I got your message, but am responding here (with your VIN not shown) so the info is out for others as this is the reason most OTA's that require the vehicle to be inhibited fail. The reason the OTA is failing to install is your 12b battery is VERY low. As someone with an upgraded...
What you're seeing is what we playfully refer to as a "phantom update" over on the F150 forums. There is no active OTA trigger for your truck at this time. Ignore it.....it will eventually go away.
There is currently a "house-divided" situation on the Mach E forum when it comes to this. Some people believe that the -ACJ version of the IPMA is BC 1.4 based on the fact that the few Mach E's that got the 7.0.0 OTA got that version of the IPMA and it was released in FDRS at the same time the...
The 2024's F150 is different in architecture. They seem to be more similar to a 2024 Mustang from what I have been seeing. For sure the IPC changed; BCM changed, too, as those are capable of having walk-away locking enabled. I'm sure the real experts know what all the differences are at this...
