The changes needed to do this are not posted publicly. Message me the VIN and in your message, lmk if you have enabled auto-hitch or glare free lighting so I can send you the correct changed needed to not affect other things.
They were beta testing it with hardware they Frankenstein'd into the test cars. I'm sure there are better videos out there...... that one is old. I'm at work and that was the first thing I found.
Unfortunately, no. You can do one or the other. If you enable traffic jam assist, you lose BC.
Edit: These changes are what is needed to enable it on the F150/Lightning. It would be different for the Mach E, but it can be done.
FDRS is the only way. Even if you purchased all the hardware to push the firmware yourself, there is no guarantee that you'll get APIM update you want. You can only update what Ford has available on the servers for your specific VIN. You could buy all the tools needed, do all the updates you...
There are cheaper options out there that work. Maybe someone else can chine in with what they used; or check the FDRS thread on the Mach E forum for other options. I know @Mike G used two Clore PL2320's at the same time for a while with success.
The Clore PL2320 is what I use and what is recommended for ICE vehicle that have a 12v battery with double or more capacity than what comes in the EV's. The 20amp may be good enough for most updates, but the CMR takes 45-60 minutes and the IPMA/PSCM combo takes 3 hours, so for those, we have...
Because Ford monitors this forum, and when I check a VIN, the user name that checks the VIN gets recorded in vehicle history. I already had my account deactivated once and was lucky to get it back. I don't want that to happen again.
That will not work for the IPMA/PSCM. You need something with power supply mode; not just a charger. It is recommended you get something with at least 40amp of juice in power supply mode for the EV's due to their small 12v battery.
PTS = Professional Technician System which is a Ford dealer website.
FDRS = Ford Diagnostic and Repair System is the software Ford techs use.
Acronyms for the different modules inside a Lightning are:
When I say strategy, it refers to the strategy file a module gets updated with which is how...
I've never used the non-dealer version of PTS, but I have heard from others who have that it is not the same; just not sure what the differences are, but what you're saying sounds familiar as if I've heard it before.
It hasn't cleared from PTS yet. I don't have access to FDRS now, but PTS still shows you're on the RCL strategy and this update would bring the GWM up to (or down to?) RCH.
OTA 6.8.0 for the IPC includes the animations for lane change. If the ADAS related modules are up to date but you don't have the IPC update, you can still enable the new features and they will work, but you won't see the animations on the IPC.
Your truck being a 2024 shipped from the factory with most of the updates you see talked about on the forum already. Message me the VIN and I can check what you have pending, but it will not be much.
2024 trucks shipped from the factory with BC 1.2, so the animations for lane change should have been there since day one. It is very unlikely that you got a BC specific OTA. If you did, you would be the first Ford vehicle outside of the 2022-2023 Mach E's to get it.
