I have a similar issue, wrench and alert every time I start the vehicle. I still have full power. Dealership checked the codes and said it is a problem with a coolant system valve. The part was originally supposed to come in at the end of March, but now they are telling me the end of June. I...
In Oregon, the only Rivian chargers that are open to other marques is in Astoria. At least that is what the Rivian website says. Other "nearby" open chargers are in central CA and Montana. So clearly have not pushed the software out widespread. Will have to continue using EA and Tesla when on...
I went with the garage sub panel when we remodeled the garage and installed the charger. I now have powered outlets and lights in the garage, outlets out back near my garden, and a FCSP which I down rated to 60 amp and set up to only charge when I am sleeping. Works like a charm.
That would be a possibility. However I did do that in the past on my iMac and I now have an unusable/unrecoverable partition on my HDD. Not sure if I want to torment myself or spend some money on an inexpensive PC laptop.
My understanding is that it also requires a Windows PC. I just have a Mac. So that would increase my cost a bit. Perhaps there is one compatible with Chromebook? Will need to look more in to it.
Bummer to hear that dealers don't do the Forscan changes. That seems like something they should do since I cannot make those changes without significant tech, and Ford does not seem to be able to enable their software updates to allow the functionality.
But perhaps the Sync updates will address...
I received the window update, and now my truck has WAL. I actually received an alert on my phone that the truck locked itself.
I went in to the Sync screen and under Locks I could not find anything to enable/disable WAL. I presume that is a Forscan setting that needs to be done? Will ask the...
Everything different is bad, until you get used to it. I have not had the retractable shifter get stuck, yet. But I see the possibility.
I would have been happy with a column shifter as well. But perhaps a three on the tree is just too old fashioned.
Having the drop down shifter is an overly...
I was going to look at a Rivian because the Ford is just about a foot too long for my 120 year old Portland garage. However I do really like the drive and comfort of the Lightning.
Does the Riv have power outlets? Specifically a 240 V that I can use to provide backup power to my home?
I have...
The biggest enemy of range I have in Oregon is the mountains. Always scary to watch the range tick down quickly going uphill to ski. Comforting to see that range then jump back up going down hill.
The advice on finding a functioning DC charging station is key. There are lots of options in my...
Most days I charge to 90%, based on Ford recommendation and the comments on this forum. We keep our Bolt limited to 80%. But I will charge occasionally to 100%, especially when I am planning a long trip.
The MyView returns to default with every software update. Annoying.
Thankfully my radio stations now seem to survive the updates. That was REALLY annoying when they reset all the time.
Window update installed overnight. They worked fine before and seem to work just fine since.
Most of what we see posted is people having problems. How many people have no problems with their vehicle, charger, on any given day?
I had my truck fully charged when I left home this morning. Drove the six miles to work and still had same percentage on arrival. What an awesome vehicle!
I did...
I wish I knew what they did to track the problem down. All I know is that they checked all software, which is up to date. I can ask when I speak with them tomorrow.
My 2023 Lariat threw a wrench a week back and gave me powertrain malfunction, ok to drive on reduced power. In to dealer on Friday and today they say it is a coolant pump issue. Unfortunately the part is on a nationwide back order until April 21. Should get the truck back tomorrow, and will have...
My Lightning is going in to the shop (Courtesy Ford in Portland,OR) because the BC 1.4 update seems to have caused a fault. The car tells me it is with the drive system but the Ford folks remotely read the codes and say it is with the charging system. So whom knows. Hopefully they can find out...
I can confirm that my update happened, and on the road the other day the truck was making its own lane changes. Definitely something I will need to get used to, especially when driving on urban highways.
On the down side, since the update I now have a drivetrain failure warning. Started...
