BYD is the largest ev company in the world. (China Company)
They’ve recently announced plans to begin construction of a manufacturing plant in Mexico, with the caveat they have no intention of selling cars in the US market. If they did, it would destroy any and every US ev manufacturer...
I’ve read many articles that state the electric vehicle competition has turned into a war, and there will be blood. Mainly from the actions of BYD and Neo, of which I’m excited about the cars, but not so much the subsidies
No worries. It’s not just one article, it’s just the one I picked. There...
Only if it’s an ugly EV. She is the exact opposite of me. I could care less about looks, but it might be the most important thing on her checklist. Obviously talking about cars and not people here?
I don’t disagree, but that’s not what this article is about. It focuses mainly on their entire EV product line of which the F150 lightning is not a large portion. It seems to mainly focus on the electric cars. These are not single year RND trying to return to profitability in one year. They had...
That’s correct, but I still don’t get the “clickbait” response. Amazon lost money for quite a while while investing in r&d, logistics, and planning for the future. This post wasn’t meant as an attack on ford, but reading the replies, it’s becoming clear some may feel that way.
I don’t understand why you feel it’s clickbait, it’s typical of virtually any industry to have the products sales cover the cost of development. But for the sake of my sanity, I’ll not try to convince you.
Only EV Vehicle. Most companies include r&d in the bottom line. The gas division was able to cover the losses of the ev team. I suggest reading the entire article before calling it clickbait.
It’s simply the current state of affairs...
Ford lost $1.3 billion in its electric vehicle department during the first quarter of 2024, which is about $132,000 per vehicle it sold.
Ouch. Lessens the feeling I paid too much for my vehicle ?
I couldn’t agree more. Such a simple thing which, I think, Makes it even more annoying that they don’t care enough to fix it.
Fortunately, and I have no conclusive idea why, but after going off what seemed like 100x in the first month and a half of ownership, and a trip back to the dealer (no...
Yes, but the load would have to be grounded somewhere else (assuming 240v)
On 120vGFCI ground doesn’t matter- the neutral must be carrying the same amps as the hot wire, or the gfci will detect that as a ground fault.
If it’s tripping with anything 120v- if the current isn’t completing the...
Tracing ground faults can be quite tedious. Does your pro power trip when simply energized and not under load?
Even if one truck works and the other doesn’t, if you want to go deep into the weeds, it doesn’t necessarily mean the issue isn’t with the load. A gfci will trip at roughly 5ma of...
Exactly what spear said. No, you don’t need a neutral, and a three wire connection is all that’s needed. But that’s a lot of amps. Any loose connection will melt with the possibility of fire. Just remove it and use a single quality outlet. If you use it regularly it’s a must.
I don’t think I’m describing it right. It rolls up in a coil, but it’s really a sliding (spring coil) retraction. It rolls up in a cartridge that hides in the front of the bed.
