    Switch it to manual mode in the settings in the truck screen and open/close it a couple times. Then, switch back to powered mode. It will beep at you if it's locked.

    No, usually you have to open the top if you want a good seal and want your cap to be secure.

    PSA: download a copy of the owners manual to your phone for all the wonderful information at your fingertips regardless of cell service or if you can't access the manual built in to the software.

    How big is the airbrake on your trailer and how fast were you going? Temp, weight, speed and aerodynamics are important factors when towing.
