  1. How to purchase HIS now (1/2023)

Looks like there is still a customer page separate from the “installer page“ so I believe anyone can still purchase the system like I did back in May of last year.
  2. 180 Mile Real World Winter Range - Lariat ER

Did you precondition the truck prior to departure? I expect my lightning ER would do well to get 1.5mi/kWh in those temps and speeds so this just confirms what I was thinking. I’ve noticed in the colder temps in my garage and possibly from the most recent update, the truck FORD pass app will now...
  3. Lightning Battery Teardown by Munro

I guess some of what I’m saying is I’m impressed with what the lightning does on its “limited” voltage pack and not impressed with what the hummer does with 800volt capability
  4. Lightning Battery Teardown by Munro

Some of what you have to consider with comparing how much range is added when charging EV's is the efficiency of the EV. As I compared the Hummer and the Lightning charging in another post, part of the reason the lightning is competitive in its charging time to add a particular number of miles...
  5. Lightning Battery Teardown by Munro

Kyle Konner recently did a charging curve video on the Hummer EV and basically he determined that the Hummer EV charges best between 0-65% and if road tripping the vehicle that is where you want to be during charging sessions. What was interesting to me is that it took 40 minutes for the Hummer...
  6. 2023 Lightning with 20" wheels now only shipping with All-Terrain tires (at no cost)

I have the All Terrain on my lightning that I’ve had since middle of June. I would say there is minimal impact to the range as they are not a very “aggressive” all terrain tire. Many times during the summer my daily commute of about 20 miles driving 55 mph to work, my truck would get 2.8 mi/kwh...
  7. Tailgate latching loud noise

My tailgate does this on my Lariat as well. It’s only sometimes and I definitely notice that after driving it, it tends to stop. I don’t know if sometimes its the way the truck is parked or if its something that’s getting in the way of closing but it makes a really loud metal clang just before...
  8. Shortcut on main screen for camera possible?

I have found when pulling in to a parking spot, that pulling just close enough to another vehicle or barrier initiates the 360 degree camera due to the exterior sensor triggering. However, the camera only stays up for a few seconds if the object moves away or you continue pulling forward. It...
  9. Heated steering wheel stopped working

I wonder if there is a time out on heating the steering wheel because I have noticed after pre conditioning that although the steering wheel is not cold, it doesn’t continue to stay “warm/hot” even with the heated steering wheel button on. Makes me think it’s like a defroster where it heats up...
  10. Confirmed: Preconditioning matters

So I don't see how preconditioning the truck with a departure time costs any more money than waiting until you leave and then warming the cabin and letting the truck condition the battery pack off battery power. Either way you choose you have to use energy to warm the cabin and condition the...
  11. Peragon Tonneau

I have this bed cover as well, the platinum version or whatever That provides the ”no drill” brackets. I think I paid around $1100 back in May when I ordered after like a $150 promotion. The fit is really nice, there is the issue of not being able to fold it if something is stored or slides to...
  12. Why 150 KW Fast Charging Limit ?

The truck limitation (assuming FORD allowed the absolute maximum rate the truck could accept) comes down to the battery voltage (assume 400v, but its actually less, like 385v I think) and the maximum amperage of the charging station. I think the max amperage offered at DC fast chargers is 500...
  13. New York to Florida and Back in my F-150 Lightning Lariat Extended Range

This trip summary is great. Thanks for posting this. I’m planning to drive my ER lariat to Orlando from south central kentucky (family trip to Disney, 3 kids under 5 ?) in a month and was wondering what strategy to take. I’ve considered doing long stretches of driving and taking the battery down...
  14. Charge Station Pro and Home Integration System self-install

This would sound logical but when you call SunRun and ask they will tell you that the solar array will not continue to provide power to the loads panel unless the truck is plugged in. I guess we will get to see when someone actually gets this system up and running and does some tests….
  15. Charge Station Pro and Home Integration System self-install

I wonder if the truck has to stay constantly plugged in for the transfer switch to stay switched over to “off grid mode” and if not then can they PV system feed the “critical loads panel” when the truck is disconnected? If the solar array could continue to supply the critical loads panel...
  16. Charging to 90% as mentioned in Manual or 80% like others?

Just curious if these modern batteries cycle the individual cells that are being utilized day to day if the battery is only being used 10-20%? Do some of the battery cells literally stay “fully charged” all the time if this was your typical use of an EV or does the BMS “rotate“ cells in and out...
  17. Tailgate beeping at me when it's button is pressed

I think it may have something to do with the truck going into its “sleep mode” and when you initially press the button this is waking the truck up, then pressing again activates the lift gate. I may be wrong though
  18. Charge Station Pro and Home Integration System self-install

Ever get the home integration system going?
  19. Charging: DC Fast Charger won't go beyond 90%

Do the preferred charging times only apply to the set charge locations? So you don’t need to change these preferred settings to “anytime” when going on a trip and DC fast charging several times I assume right?
