Tried google maps on my iPhone 12 this weekend and I am not seeing navigation arrows on the main dash. So whomever is maybe has an update that I don’t have.
This sounds similar to my day 1 experience. See thread below. Mine had a two layer problem. It was still in “fleet mode” and second, the modem/TCU was unresponsive. After 2 or 3 times at the dealer they finally replaced the modem/TCU and all communications started working again. The mothership...
Yeah my 2023 doesn’t have the interior motion sensor either. There’s this whole thread about how to add it back. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/ford-perimeter-plus-security-system.15665/
The truck will stay on even if you leave with your phone in your pocket. I do it all the time when I leave my family waiting while I go grab something in the store on a road trip.
Not sure about the rest of you but the other annoying thing about the Ford nav for me is that the Tesla superchargers do not show up at all when trying to find a nearby charger. At least I can route in Apple Maps and it’ll include Tesla superchargers.
Yeah I might have to start doing this too. 9 out of 10 times that I approach the truck and try the door handle nothing happens. I have to take the phone out of my pocket, unlock it, then open the FordPass app and THEN the truck wakes up and unlocks the door. iPhone 12.
I’ll check this out later when I drive. Does Ford do “silent” updates that we are not notified about? Sometimes I get in the truck and the “my view” screen on the driver screen has changed, but no update announced anywhere.
I just read that the battery on this smaller truck might be really small. If true then that explains why the price would be so low. Not sure everyone will enjoy the range it provides. https://insideevs.com/news/768632/ford-midsize-ev-pickup-battery/
I think e-transits have the charge port in the front face. But based on your photo there should be a part or parts available to at least get the hinged door for the right side. Interesting.
What I really want to know is how do I get a charge port door that I can open and close on the right side of my 2023 Lariat. More storage behind there. Only 2022/23 have the fake fixed door there now.
Overall I like what I’m reading (couldn’t watch the live stream). I wonder what this means for the Mach E, Lightning, and Transit van? Will those continue to have their own assembly lines or is Ford saying all future EVs will now be based only on this “shared” platform?
It’s strange to me why the charge ports on EVs aren’t angled slightly downward so that water doesn’t pool in the holes. It wouldn’t be that hard to plug in if the angle was very slight.
When I got in the truck yesterday I was greeted with this CarPlay message for the first time. I’ve been using CarPlay for a year and a half and this was the first I’ve seen this. Wonder why now?
I’ll concur with others that perhaps this is good news - that maybe the Lightning we all have now live on for another 3 years. Providing more time to focus on software updates and adding to the overall pool of available used parts for Lightnings.
