  1. Air filter change and debris

Another interesting item. The day after I had my 20,000 mile check up I got a call from the dealer. I was advised that there were two mandatory software updates that were required. They said that they would send out a mobile service unit to accomplish the update. The technician came today and...
  2. Air filter change and debris

Just as an aside, recently brought my truck in for routine 20,000 mile check. Technician said air filter still looked OK and did not recommend changing till next inspection.
  3. Apple Maps with ev charge routing

In my case, when I set Apple Maps to electric vehicles, it gave so much misleading information on refueling stops. You are unable to edit that, and so I finally just turned it off.
  4. IF you could do it all over... what would you buy?

Absolutely love mine but in Abilene TX, they just don’t sell. Dealership no longer carries them after selling only about 3. Same in Lubbock. Hard to figure why.
  5. Apple Issues iOS 18.4.1 Update To Fix iOS 18.4 CarPlay Connectivity Issues (in part)

18.3.2. A bit quirky but totally restarting usually resolves issue. 18.4.1 available but haven't updated. Worst problem is maps insisting on inseting fuel stops. Resolution - disconnected "electric car"

Thanks. Is it standard coolant that you add, if needed?

    Where is the coolant located?
  8. Talk me out of getting this Lariat

Hah. Good point, but I think most people do know what the abbreviation for postscript means.
  9. Talk me out of getting this Lariat

I love the diversity of the site. Of course we all have different feelings. In my case, I recently gave up my Citation 501-SP Stallion Jet that I had flown for 32 years. I used to hate driving and flew to most every place we went. My F150 lightning has become my new "airplane" I love driving...
  10. Talk me out of getting this Lariat

Poor turning radius is about the only feature I don’t like. All the rest is positive, but as others have pointed out, I’m used to driving a truck
  11. Teach my 2024 ER Lightning That There is a FCSP at Home

I live in a rural area, but I use it every trip. My wife never uses it except when an unfamiliar area. Different strokes for different folks.
  12. Farley believes he knows how to beat the Chinese on EVs

Me too. Best truck I have ever owned. Simply blows my mind it has not been a great success but I guess it’s pretty hard to judge a new market. Sure there are issues and some difficulties with service but I’m sure glad I have mine
  13. Busted leg!

Roger that. As a surgeon, I learned the hard way that most orthopedic surgeons are not skilled at ankle surgery. Mine was not repaired properly, and when I finally saw an ankle specialist, the revision appeared to be more than I wanted to go through. I'm left with some permanent disability, but...
  14. Apple Maps EV Routing

iPhone 18.3. - no correct range estimate but otherwise working
  15. Noise in headliner above rear seats

Speaking of noise, it's been real cold here in West Texas and the other night we were driving and it sounded like a motorcycle was right next to us. Turned out that the fan was set at maximum and the noise was coming from that fan. Once we lowered the fan speed the noise went away
  16. First Trip/Tesla Adapter Use

I always leave mine running while charging
  17. Truck and Ford Charger not communicating properly

A humble plea for many of us less sophisticated viewers. When using abbreviations, please consider spelling out what they are in the initial post. Many of us are simply unfamiliar of the less common abbreviations. Thanks.
  18. what are the highest mileage lightnings

I think battery degradation is the biggest issue for many of us. I tend to keep vehicles for a long time and would love to keep this truck. So far it’s the best vehicle I’ve owned. I keep wondering about the eventual cost of battery replacement as well as if and when better batteries will...
  19. What Level 2 charger do you recommend

Very Strange. I started this thread by noting that my Ford supplied charger worked on 220 V but not on 110. I finally got around to bringing it to the dealer. I left it with him and he later called and said it was working fine. When I got home I tried it and indeed it was. Hard to figure since...
