A few months ago, a member on the ICE forums had an OTA that was repeatedly failing due to low SOC; it was one of those updates that require the vehicle to be inhibited. The guy calls Ford's OTA hotline and the rep tells him the reason the update was failing was because his fuel level was low...
I can tell you this from personal experience: When I first got into FDRS and the OTA fiascos two years ago, my truck was repeatedly failing on old IPC OTA that job 1 trucks needed to activate bluecruise. At that point, I asked Jesse to look at my truck in hopes of some kind of guidance. What was...
Maybe. Hadn't noticed his was a 2022. I'll keep an eye on that in future VIN searches. I'm still learning when it comes to the Lightnings and especially the Mach E's. Sooooo many updates on those.
A reliable source on this forum said that recent builds of 2023 Lightnings have not been added to the OTA roll-out schedules. I would not hold my breathe waiting for OTA's.
Many Lightning owners have messaged me to look up their VIN to see if this update is pending for them, and I have not found a single truck with an IPC update pending. it is my opinion that Ford pulled this update for some reason.
I will defer to @Gimme_my_MME as far as this question goes. Based on his response a few posts up, if it was an isolated incident, it was just a glitch in the matrix and you should be good to go.
Last OTA you got was APIM update 23-PU0724-DOM-RS on 10/18. No other OTA's in your queue at this time. The module updates the dealer did are below and the BECM is one of them. I clicked on each one, and each update attempt was successful. There are no significant events or DTC's recorded in...
Yours is a 2023. I am not well versed enough yet with the Lightnings to know if the 2023 trucks got the last round of TCU updates that came with the 4.x.x updates. If you did get those updates or if your truck was already built with those updates, then you can just update everything else except...
Some of these modules are exclusive to the Lightnings, so I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty darn sure these are all available via the OTA process. If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to chime in and correct me.
List of modules pending updates for your truck is below. Based on your OTA history, the update you want is the APIM at the bottom of the list that would be the equivalent to 6.3.0.
Your list is below. The update you are looking for is being sought after by many here, but I have yet to find...
This is what the release notes would say:
Group ID 1 - Ford Power-Up 6.4.0
Smart Changes
Refinements have been made to help improve connectivity.
Not much to go by. 4 of the 5 locations in the modules get updated including the strategy. It is the same TCU software as the Mach E.
To see what Sync version you're on, go to the "about sync" page on your touchscreen settings menu.
Edit: You said in a recent post that you just picked up your truck in June. As per a reliable source on this forum, recently built Lightnings are not on the OTA roll out schedule yet.
Ford does not pay dealers for the hours it takes to update modules unless there is a TSB, SSM or recall of some sort that they can bill Ford for. While some people have gotten dealers to perform module updates for them, it is not the norm. You can ask, but if they don't do it, just keep in mind...
