I don't recommend traveling with the lightning for several reasons: First off the few chargers there are often are out of service. Paying $.31-$.43/kwh isn't cheap. I have a platinum and on the interstate I'm lucky to get 2/mpk. At $.31/kwh that's a little over $15 per 100 miles. At $3/gal...
I would never recommend the lightning to anyone that plans on using it anywhere other than locally. I only charge to the recommended 80% SOC and never have to worry about range even if it's cold outside and I'm towing my trailer. I also wouldn't have purchased it if I ever had to use a public...
I believe my dealer wanted $3200 to extend the bumper to bumper warranty to 7 yr/100,000 miles. So their offer to you sounds pretty good. I didn't get mine but was told I could extend it anytime before it expires.
WOW! 371 on 100% charge. You must do most your driving in the city. I once did a 2 hour city driving test where I was getting 3.3/kwh which would've equated to 432 miles with my 131 kwh battery had that remained constant. During those two hours I did see as high as 3.5/kwh for a short time. I...
Speed is definitely a factor in miles per kwh. For at least two reasons not only are you getting to your destination sooner but in doing so you've created more wind resistance which is EV'S biggest range killer.
I believe they are real, and that ford has just done a really good job regulating their temperatures. But I would love to see some temperature readings instead of just bars, which are just one step above idiot lights.
I doubt you'd have that option, as the extended battery comes with the 80 amp pro charger. I'd say when it arrives and you don't want it , then sell it. I'm not sure but I'd say you wouldn't have an problems selling it, especially still boxed up. I believe you're looking at around $3000 there...
All those things you've mentioned here work great on my platinum. I'd say it's past time to take your truck in for repairs. If something like that happened to me even once I'd take my truck in for repairs.
I'd like to see all the stop & go and other convenient stores like Casey's get chargers installed. If I was to go on vacation I'd prefer driving the back roads to the interstate, and the way things are now, small towns have few to none chargers. Most small towns have some kind of convenient...
From what I've heard, if your vehicles SOC is in a range where the vehicle will accept maximum charge rate, then the charge by minute is supposed to be much cheaper. I'll be charging my lightning at home . Most fast chargers costs $.43 /kWh that's ridiculous price to pay for electricity. And...
I guess I don't understand why anyone would take a lightning to the track anyway. It's fast, but it's not a race car. I bought mine to use it to haul & tow locally and it works great for that. Also love the 9.6 kw generator on board. So many uses for that, just fantastic.
I hope these people flipping these get burnt. Since at the moment at least the lightning is the only EV full size truck, that still looks like a truck.
I believe they will hold their value very well for quite some time.
I doubt if the frunk is air tight since there is a drain opening in the lower compartment. The button needs to be disabled when the vehicle is in motion.
