The issue you have when you connect the ground from the truck to the house is that the truck outlets are protected by GFCI breakers that will trip when it sees that your ground and your neutral are connected (inside your main panel in your home).

So while leaving the ground floating (from your truck) would allow you to use the truck as a back up power source (albeit unsafely), there's a better way to do this that doesn't require reworking your panel or creating subpanels and is the best option I've seen that solves all of these issues...
