I had this exact problem and solved it. It wasn't the pillar on my truck, it was that triangular black piece of plastic just under that tweeter speaker. It's clipped on with those stereotypical metal clips and all I did to fix it was pull it off and reseat it where it apparently isn't rubbing...

Cheap sd cards and USB sticks are notorious for reporting larger memory size than is reality. You're cam will happily record to join existent sectors. Get a legit real Samsung or Sandisk and from their direct store, not third party on Amazon
