  1. 2022 F150 Lightning Lariat ER for $56k seems to good to be true. What's the catch?

Yes - these can be great options if the issue has been addressed and you want to drive it until it dies.
  2. 2022 F150 Lightning Lariat ER for $56k seems to good to be true. What's the catch?

Everyone considering this needs to know that a branded title never goes away - and will always impact resale. In fact, many dealerships won't touch even touch them, so trading them in can be a problem. That said, if you have a good relationship with a dealership that does deal with branded title...
  3. Is anybody getting summer freeway range over 250 miles?

Wind makes such a HUGE difference. 20+mph headwind is a killer.
  4. NACS to CCS1 adapter now available!

Musk and Ford (along with the other auto makers) have already said it will be early 2024 before we have access to the SC network. No need to rush to get an adapter that may or may not work when that happens...
  5. Charging unattended

You need to save your home as a charging location and then you can set the maximum charge level.
  6. DCFC with truck on

That's a bizarre reaction. You can absolutely turn the truck on while charging. The A/C works more effectively than in accessory mode, so I've charged with the truck on a lot this summer.
  7. Charging unattended

For sure - it won't hurt that you charged to 100 this time, or really any time as long as you aren't staying there for long durations. If you drive a lot every day and are running through the battery quite a ways regularly, you can probably get away with charging higher (like 85). If you don't...
  8. Charging unattended

Won't hurt anything to leave it plugged in. In fact, Ford recommends leaving it plugged in. What I would suggest is to lower your target charge at home, though, so you aren't constantly charging to 100%. That's not great on these batteries. I have mine set to 70% and change it to a higher level...
  9. Tell me about your 48A EVSE

That's awesome. Definitely going to explore this setup! Thanks!
  10. Tell me about your 48A EVSE

Asking a question specifically about your setup - can your setup both charge whenever there is excess solar, and then also charge on a set schedule? I'm moving soon and will have solar at my new place, and also have off-peak electric rates at ridiculously low rates - 4.5 cents/kwh from midnight...
  11. Is your PAAK reliable?

Or...we just use the password if that ever happens.
  12. Is anybody getting summer freeway range over 250 miles?

220 at 75mph feels spot-on to me. 1.7-1.8 m/kwh is pretty standard for me at 75. At 80 1.6 (and worse with wind) is normal.
  13. Is anybody getting summer freeway range over 250 miles?

Adding, the other reason it's more noticeable than in an ICE is because EVs are so efficient. Only about 30% of the energy of an ICE engine goes to moving the vehicle, so added wind resistance only has an impact on ~1/3 of the fuel consumption. So, a vehicle getting 15mpg is only using 5mpg to...
  14. Is anybody getting summer freeway range over 250 miles?

Weight seems to have VERY LITTLE to do w/ efficiency if you aren't hitting a lot of hills and big climbs, IMO.
  15. SAE is standardizing the NACS connector – making it less dependent on Tesla

One of the biggest advantages of opening the Supercharger network to the rest of us is the redundancy it offers. Like you, I anticipate I'll still mostly use other options (more due to the reality of the challenge of parking at a SC location given the charge port location than any particular...
  16. Driving behind an annoying Lightning

I cannot wait for 1.2. I love BC (it works well here in Kansas on the interstate - flattish, straightish roads are its friend) as-is, but lane-change, lane-bias, and better cornering will address the vast majority of current flaws.
  17. Is anybody getting summer freeway range over 250 miles?

This feels spot-on to me. Especially if you had any southerly breeze. That GFC, even with the fairing, is having big impact at freeway speeds. I don't have any additional drag, have no extra weight (other than what the cheeseburgers have added to my waist over the years) and am happy with...
  18. Driving behind an annoying Lightning

This is the most educational post of the day.
  19. SAE is standardizing the NACS connector – making it less dependent on Tesla

Agreed - Gas stations didn't always have convenience stores as part of their experience. Charging stations will eventually have other ways of monetizing our presence (or, businesses that want to draw customers for 20-60 minutes will want to have charging stations). Restaurants/multiple retail...
  20. SAE is standardizing the NACS connector – making it less dependent on Tesla

Supercharger prices are steep, though. The competitors already are in good shape there. If they can continue to improve reliability, EA, EVGo, etc, will be able to compete. Add in that Superchargers in many places are often slammed with vehicles and there is going to be plenty of charging need...
