Did a quick search on parts.ford for âFirewall Grommetâ as well as âPass-Through Grommetâ and no luck with an exploded diagram betraying their location.
However, thereâs a shit-ton of videos and posts for wiring through the cab of previous gen. trucks and I canât imagine itâs too different...
Your trailer manufacturer should have pretty specific numbers on what the ideal tongue weight is and itâs generally around 10% of the trailerâs gross weight. That is usually met when the trailer is level or with a slight hitch down attitude. Not enough tongue weight is just as dangerous as too...
Hydrophobic Silicon Dioxide is the active ingredient in these coatings, Silicon and Oxygen are the two most abundant element on earth. When the disinformation and outrageous claims subsides, hopefully the price point of what is otherwise a legitimate product will come down to a realistic level...
My experience with rubberized undercoatings is the same as some of the YouTube mechanics; that they make things worse.
Epoxy coated rebar has been banned for similar reasons.
Stick with oil based solutions and reapply every year, maybe twice a year, depending on usage and geographic location.
My last two trucks came with tow mirrors but they were only about 50% larger than the standard mirrors. I feel that the Max Tow should have at least had larger mirrors, if not the full on school bus mirrors.
My Lincoln Navigator has standard mirrors and they are stupid-small, even on an SUV...
Iâve been using a an old milk crate since 1996 and it works for me.
If you want something weather proof, a bucket with a top works too.
Something like a trailer hitch ball mount, I would try to keep that inside the cab, maybe with the jack hardware.
Having also looked at the F250, I have been looking into how to do this and there are a few tutorials on how to add the upfitter switches to the previous gen. F150.
I havenât looked into it since getting my truck, since I have been busy trying to get my misaligned doors fixed.
Since I wanted a...
Just drove my XLT Mid tonight and indeed, the map lights are LED.
I wish I could have ordered the LED headlights but they arenât available for the regular cab.
I agree 100%!
Pretty much what some OTR tractor trucks have been using for a while now.
I have the HDPP and with the regular cab; empty, the ride is stiff to say the least! I donât mind the ride in the dry on pavement but I am worried that it might not get the best traction in the wet or...
By isolating the rear suspension, the self leveling headlights will work as theyâre meant to. Only adjusting with the truck, not the incline of the road.
If anything, they could use the sensor to adjust the psi in the airbags. My Lincoln has these front and rear and theyâre for adjusting the...
I ordered these off eBay, the 12â length was $20 and the pair of 6â ones were $25:
The local steel supplier has blanks but theyâre overpriced. I looked for unpainted but painted is fine. I will put up some pictures of underneath the truck next chance I get. I will probably make some...
Also, it seemed out of the scope of this thread but some trades will also use tongue and groove plywood to cover the bed for a flatter floor, where nails and screws wonât get stuck like in ribbed plastic drop-in liners and you can sweep the bed clean so debris wonât mar what you need to load...
I had planned on using nothing at first but after moving some cardboard boxes, I saw that I had managed to scrape the clearcoat, which might not be at its full hardness yet. Also, the frigginâ 8â bed has the same amount of tie downs as the 5.5â bed, come on Ford! They canât pony up for a few...
I just bought some receiver hitch stock off ebay, since I plan on welding something up.
The power airdam will indeed interfere with any underslung front hitch. Even if the frame is compatible with prior gen hitches.
I plan to mount mine right where the intercooler goes on the turbo trucks...
I almost didnât get anything, since itâs going to be used as a truck and I expect it to get scraped and dented, I really donât like the plastic bedliners or the spray in stuff, since for certain cargo, it makes it harder to load and then harder to clean.
However, I did get a horse stall mat...
I am curious to see how many gallons of gas it would take to fully charge an electric car and just how efficient the F-150 is as a generator.
I would at least hope that the Tesla can go farther on a gallon of gas generated by a truck, however, you might be surprised.
The real question isnât...
Mine takes a 21mm socket. I already had it out, since my Lincoln is the same but with five lugs.
I was just googling it because I didnât want to go outside to check, since I just got some wheel locks. Go figure this pops up.
Nope. I bought a new truck so that I wouldnât have to worry about that!
One of the door speakers blew out in my â06 Silverado, that and a few other annoying things is what prompted me to start looking for a newer truck.
