Brilliant write up. Thank you. Loved the summary line, "A serene Pullman car on the backend of a locomotive disguised as a very useful pickup truck." Thank you.
That's what I did. Some of the topics I "learned" I didn't remember weeks / months later, when I actually needed that topic. But I knew the info was in there so I refreshed myself on that topic.
Also, although I've had the truck since June, 2022, I still read this forum daily. Two years on...
Plastic seats? Hey, when I was in grade school the seats were wooden. As was the pointer stick that the nuns used when you didn't get an answer correct.
I disagree equating driving a manual with driving 1PD. I've been driving manuals since 1967. My last one was a 2013 Fusion which I had to custom order with the manual transmission. My 22 Lightning is my first automatic. I just do not like not having coasting.
I agree. I find it very off putting. I love to "coast"; not to save energy -- just to "relax". The notion that driving is either one of two things -- accellerating or braking -- is foriegen to me. In my mind driving is one of three things: accellerating, coasting, or braking. Losing...
Thanks for the explanation. In my mind, when I'm coming off of cruise control it's usually because something is happening -- something I need to deal with; maybe even a problem. The last thing I want at that point in time is to have to think about implementing something different than what...
Hands-Free is not worth $80 per month for my driving. Yes, it's a nice feature when I drive from Boston up to our camp in Maine in the spring. And when I drive back to Boston in the fall. But certainly not worth $80 for a few hours of driving.
This is a huge piece of advice. You might want to swing by the SC in Lynfield MA. It's the SC with Magic Docks closest to Maine. In Maine, take a day trip up to Camden and stop in Rockland where there is a SC with Magic Docks there. It's the only SC w/ MD in all of Maine, New Hampshire and...
Ford's maps are older than that. The road my camp is on in Maine was re-routed over 75 years ago. The Ford map shows the old route, which is now a forest wtih 75-year-old trees.
I've had zero problem with the opening of some Super Chargers to Fords. Every SC I've gone to is usually empty. Tesla was nice enough to remove the bollards (otherwise I'd not be able to get the Lightning close enough.) The Ford-supplied adapter connects (and disconnects) easily. And not a...
Everyone is suggesting changes vis-a-vis the CHARGING functionality. Fine, but I don't use the Ford navigation because it lacks the basic NAVIGATION functionality that is contained in Waze. This includes traffic alerts, accidents, police speed traps, etc.
Before the Super Charger network was...
I propose this solution. When a vehicle get's to 80% charge, quadruple the price. Going from 80% to 100% on a shared charger is something I should be willing to pay dearly for.
When I start out on a trip, I charge to 100% (but I'm doing that on my home charger, or the charger at my camp in...
