Having an adapter -- whether from Ford's or from a third party -- is a godsend. I've used my Ford adapter a handful of times and it is SO MUCH BETTER than EA. Such an improvement in my life. I'd gladly pay $200 for other such improvements in my life!!
I assume not. I've not tested this. My lab happens to be super-chill and doesnt' get up from his 4 inch thick pad which covers the entire back seat floor! He's never ventured into the front seat. Sorry.
I never count on the Ford app to tell me ANYTHING accurately. For Tesla charger compatibility, I use the Telsa app. For route instructions, I use Waze.
I lost faith in the Ford app the first time I used it on a trip to our camp in Maine. The dirt road our camp is on was moved over 75 years...
Here are the Dog Mode (sorry, I'm not a cat person) instructions that I've been using in my May 2022 LL:
AC / Heat On: Be sure it’s set to “Auto” and to, say, 73 degrees.
Truck On: Leave the Truck Running.
Lights to Off: Turn the dial to the left until it’s “off”.
“Power Down” Timer Off: Turn...
I leave the Frunk 100% empty all the time. Then, when I buy a full cart worth of groceries at Market Basket in Westbrook Maine on my way to our camp in Casco, I know there's pleanty of room for everything in the Frunk. The Cooler goes in the Frunk Well, and the groceries go all around it.
I'll find out Tuesday what's the story with the one in Rockland Maine. Either way, with the info you've provided, I am now confident that I'll be able to use it: Either with the adaptor they provide (and the Tesla software) of with the Ford adaptor (and either the Ford software or the Tesla...
@TaxmanHog Thanks again. BTW, I was able to use the one in Lynn MA (which has the inbuilt adapter; I just didn't see it, nor did I know how to activate it) with my Ford adapter and I did NOT have to use the Tesla app. I just got lucky!
Thanks everyone for the replies. @RickLightning and @TaxmanHog answered the question asked: The answer is whether or not the adapter is provided by Tesla or I need to bring my own adapter. I appreciate all the input.
What's the difference between "Superchargers Open to other EVs" vs. "Superchargers Open to NACS". I cannot find a clear explanation on the Tesla site, on Google Search, or in this forum. Nearly all of the SC's in New England are listed as, "Superchargers Open to NACS". But the the one in...
1. Old news. They have been forcasting these numbers for a while. 2. Each potential EV buyer needs to do the "electricity cost vs. gas cost" calculation based on the costs in their area. 3. I love my May 2022 LL. I'm impressed with the ride every time my lab and I drive from Boston to...
Why do you need to grab the key? I must be missing something. I too hate having keys in my pociket. I leave the fob in the truck. (I haven't had it in my hand in over two years.) I access the truck with the code on the door frame. I lock the truck with the code. Or am I missing something?
Axios reported at 7:03 AM today (19th) that "the automaker said it's going to "electrify" the next generation of Super Duty trucks, without providing details." My guess is that this is a SD version of Lightning.
I had to look for Sebec Lake on Google Maps. Long way up there. (We have a place "down south", just north of Sebago.). FYI the Super Chargers at the Kittery rest area (mile 24) are NOT open to Fords (as of two weeks ago.)
Listening to all these stories, I'm greatful that I don't have to deal with these DC chargers. My longest regular drive is 140 miles from my condo in Boston to my camp in Maine. I've a Charge Station Pro at the camp (which cost over $5k to install because there wasn't even enough power on our...
