  1. Windshield Wipers - Mine do not "park"... Do yours?

I like that the "Ford guy" at the auto show assumed that the wipers would park too. Seems like an obvious feature in 2025 that somehow got overlooked somewhere between design and manufacturing stages.
  2. F150 Lightning FORScan thread - Version 2

+1 for a hands free frunk. How about a kick to open hands free and damped tailgate? A man can only dream....
  3. Busted leg!

The only reason I suggest to do anything with the 12 volt is because to OP was worried about 12 volt issues. Like with an ICE, disconnecting the 12 volt or putting it on a maintainer is best practice for long storage. But you are right and I agree, just follow the manual....leave it at 50% and...
  4. Busted leg!

Keep it at 50% for long term storage as the manual says. Disconnect the negative on the 12 volt. If you can't access that due to the injury, put it on a maintainer clipped to the jump points under the passenger side trim panel under the frunk. Attaching to the jump points instead of directly...
  5. Glare Free light operation

The two green headlights symbol indicate that the parking lights are on via the switch, not glare free lights. Glare free looks like a single headlight symbol, similar to the blue high beam symbol but green with an "A" inside of it. Page 113 in the US manual. There's nothing about glare free...
  6. Glare Free light operation

Yes, glare free only works when the switch is in the "Auto" position. The headlight symbol on the instrument screen will be green with an "A" inside of it.
  7. Navigation for road trips

I use ABRP pro with an OBD dongle to navigate for longer trips with multiple DCFC. Recently discussed here: ABRP data Even this time of year in that part of the country, the temps should be warm enough that pre-conditioning shouldn't be necessary, recently discussed here: Preconditioning I...
  8. Level 3 Charging issue: Fixed post #15

I have had a few breakdowns with ICE trucks on road trips too.... While towing our travel trailer.... Far from home..... In the middle of nowhere..... S??t happens, doesn't matter what you're driving. Adapt and overcome.
  9. Level 3 Charging issue: Fixed post #15

I had a Mach-e (traded for the current Lightning) that stopped ALL charging, Level 1, 2, or 3. It ended up needing a charge port replacement. My part took 3 months to arrive and be replaced.
  10. What data does ABRP use with OBD for range estimation? How good is it?

It uses all of this data: Yes. Yes. Yes. In a roundabout way.... How these two variables effect the overall miles per kilowatt-hour is what is measured. Heavier weight and the bad aerodynamics of towing increase power use and reduce efficiency which is measured into the estimates. You also...
  11. 3,800 mile winter trip, new learnings

For my clarification, are you saying that you did you use ABRP with an OBD for this trip? I did a similar length trip through WA, ID, MT and ND and found that the ABRP/OBD was the best, easiest, most accurate for me. It was late fall, so the weather was warmer. I agree with your answer above...
  12. 3,800 mile winter trip, new learnings

Just a few days ago, I was thinking to myself, "I wonder where @RickLightning is? I haven't seen any posts from him for a while..." Now I know why! Great with up, thanks for sharing. Quick recovery from your injury.
  13. DCFC precondition temp

I have monitored my battery a few times while using Google Maps for nav to a DCFC and CarScanner for the data. HVB temp has only risen to 59.8 deg F from a starting point that was 48 deg F. The AC compressor (heat pump) and coolant heater (resistance heat) both are active and using power...
  14. Pavement Princess Explores the Great Outdoors

I have been thinking about a similar setup to yours, except with lower bed bars to keep the tent a little lower, maybe even behind the cab. Any efficiency hit with your setup? I'd be using it for longer trips. Also, how does a rooftop tent work for daily setup/teardown to accomplish day-trips...
  15. ECU module programming guide using FDRS

If you don't mind putting your location in your profile, you may be able to get some help locally. There's a 0.000001% chance that we are neighbors and I can try to help, but at least there's a chance....
  16. DIY: Installing ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and LKA (Lane Keep Alert) to 2022 F-150 Lightning XLT

The Deutsch connector is placed behind the solid part of the bumper under the frunk tub where it is wired to the new CCM connector that plugs into the CCM. This allows you to remove the bumper that now has the new CCM bolted to it easier than trying to remove the CCM connector since you can...
  17. Retractible Tonneau w/ haybales

This is what I would go with. No Velcro for the hay/straw to get stuck to and you just roll it up to get the entire bed access (minus a tiny bit for the roll), no need to remove anything.
  18. F150 Lightning FORScan thread - Version 2

I am wondering if anyone can help me with this mod. If I remember correctly, I had to change this IPMA value to "radar camera fusion 110-degree" or something like that to activate my LKA/ACC addition to my 2024 Lightning Pro (ER, max tow, tow tech, 360 camera... NO park assist and no front...
  19. Announcing: Tesla Superchargers + Connected Navigation

Is this ONLY available in 2025 Lightning's, or is it going to be an OTA to all Lightning's in 2025?
  20. DIY: Installing ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and LKA (Lane Keep Alert) to 2022 F-150 Lightning XLT

If it was me, I wouldn't remove the current wires in the IPMA plug (pictured) but I would use a wire tap into each and run your new wires to the CCM plug. Removing those current pins and then inserting new ones into the IPMA plug is inviting problems and frustration. And who knows if they are...
