If they actually sold one and it just derated the charge to 100kW or something, then it wouldn't be a bad option for some people, even though this was a joke.
Also, some of these surveys ask questions that are clearly irrelevant to the supposed metric.
JD Power once said that unintuitive wiper controls was a major contributor to MINI doing poorly in their *dependability* study. Intuitive wipers have EXACTLY ZERO to do with dependability, yet their VP...
The article is weirdly written. It implies there was a fire because they say they reported a fire in a previous article, but then the link to that article is dead.
And a fire definitely isn't the same as "identified the issue on a Lightning unit during a standard pre-delivery quality...
FYI, they just confirmed on Twitter that the lightbar does NOT work, yet.
But if they get it to work (they haven't tried that hard, yet, it sounds like), they'll probably do a video about it.
Waiting to charge isn't unique to Tesla. For Tesla, it's usually holiday weekends in specific locations and a result of too many cars for the infrastructure.
For non-Teslas, it's usually some combination of more-than-normal demand and/or even-worse-than-normal infrastructure reliability...
Unfortunately, the wording on this law is poor, so it allows people who have vehicles "capable of using an electrical recharging station" to park without plugging in. BUT, it's definitely better than nothing.
I also think the law should allow removal via rocket launcher for people who block a...
Half the video was about someone who had a Tesla and was having trouble charging. How was this Tesla propoganda?
What are these unique-to-Tesla issues? "Reality" is that they have some of the same issues (total infrastructure, charging speeds, adapters, infrastructure reliability), but...
I've charged at 13 different EA sites, plus one or two repeats, and Plug and Charge has worked only ONCE, the most recent time. I have never changed any settings after setting up P&C before I picked up the truck.
ALSO, they swapped on a higher-trim grill and light bar onto the Pro, which is interesting.
I would like to hear exactly what they did parts-wise, though!
Seems like they're going to spread the August Pro orders across much of the year. Mine was built in the first full week of 2023 production, though, and was delivered in mid-November.
I believe it's from a document sent to dealers from Ford, not a publicly available document.
See this video here:
Where a dealer discusses how the price protection works and displays the explanation page I posted above. Starts at ~31:00 in the video if you want to skip to that part.
According to Ford, your price is locked at time of order. The Window Sticker will show the MSRP at the time the window sticker was created, though.
That being said, many dealers have tried to screw people out of the price protection, the change in MSRP from order to delivery. They're either...
My 20-mile RT commute has 2 miles or less of multi lane roads, so that’s a meaningless distinction for my use case. Many other characteristics would be more heavily weighted.
For all of these, the results are going to be very dependent on use case, I think.
Just like car reviews in general, the "winner" is dependent on the use case of the reviewer and what things they weight more than others. Like a review that picks a Rivian over a Lightning. Depending on how you...
Personally, I had some phantom braking at times with my 2018 Model 3, but overall, it was surprisingly good. I did a 100-mile trip with zero disengagements that drove me from one highway, took an exit to merge onto a different interstate, exited that interstate and drove me all the way to the...
Yes, agreed. Delivery and supply and fuel and such charges that are charged per kWh should be included. Fixed charges shouldn’t because you pay those whether you charge your Lightning or not.
Depends what the comparison is.
When it comes to price per kWh vs gas, the cost that matters is the incremental cost of the electricity you bought for the truck.
If you were paying $100 before ($20 connection fee + $80 electricity) for 800kWh, or you paid $180 now ($20 connection fee + $160...
