Either my Lightening will be reliable and I won’t need another Ford truck or it will be unreliable and I won’t want another Ford truck. Why are we talking about this?
I am not in the business but my outsider impression is that it is easier said than done. I don't think it is just a matter of buying smarter developers (although that definitely would help). The problem is Lightening is Frankensteined by slapping together tons of modules from different...
I had an R1S reservation but my lightning ended up being half the cost with lower insurance. To be frank, when I saw a Rivian fender bender costing $40K to fix, that freaked me out a little. I thought Tesla's were the only vehicles that with a blown light bulb were considered totaled. Of...
Mighty cool to see the best of both worlds come together like this. I love to see that beast next to an original Fiat 500 in one of those tiny alleys in praha.
Keep in mind that the fast disappearing Feds are encouraged to not only reduce regulation but make life a little more difficult for EVs. And if Manufacturers lose money on battery warranties and would like to contribute to the ballroom, things may become more possible. We are seeing unlikely...
I guess that is not too bad these days but I paid less to buy the truck my Lightning replaced. It was a used Frontier that I drove for more than a decade for minimal maintenance cost and it was 20 years old still running when I sold it. I miss those days.
Even though Lightning’s mass alone would destroy the Kia in a head on collision and does play some part here, the extent of damage to Kia is partly due to shape of the contact points and hight difference. Kia’s aerodynamic low front vs Lightning boxy rear made Kia slide under and take most of...
I didn't notice anything abnormal either. I am thinking when the battery is cold during charging, especially fast charging heating it up may reduce long term damage. Also during a drive with cold battery, I may not get as much energy out of it so heating it may give me more energy out than I...
Update: Got the call this morning from service advisor (3 days after Truck was done and ready). Picked it up this afternoon. It runs OK with no wrench. It cost Ford a little over $900.
They replaced the Coolant Diverter Valve and did pcm software update. They said, they retrieved code...
what do you mean by ”started giving me issues”? HVAC issues? Or your battery wouldn’t warm up in cold weather?…..
Your dealer seems to have it together. I dropped off mine last Wednesday. The confirmed that it was the valve and got the part on Thursday but said they had to do a bunch of...
Update: Truck is in the shop and they said they are replacing the coolant diverting valve. This is after I told them that is what I suspect. I just hope it is a conclusion they came up on their own because unlike others, I never heard any noise coming from the valve.
The other tidbit is...
Any updates on this? I just got the same message. My 12V battery was at 35%. I am getting the wrench for another reason. I am not sure in my case I am getting the battery message because Ford engineers woke up the truck and downloaded something or because it was sitting there for a few days...
