Agreed, and if you trust your dealer will actually put someone competent on the job you can ask, but I expect they'll have a porter or low level employee that does the pre delivery inspections on that task, and I'd prefer those kids not touch my $70k truck more than they already have to.
When they are new, a little heat and a finger nail are all that's needed to lift them off without hurting the paint. Leaving it out in the sun usually applies enough heat, but a standard hair dryer can help too. Took them off my last truck on day 1. I don't need to broadcast to the world that...
The 60/65 in tire size is an aspect ratio, not a direct measurement in mm. It means the tire height is 60% or 65% of the width measurement. 275mm x .60 = 165mm 275mm x .65 = 179mm. Twice these dimensions, plus the wheel diameter gives you the overall tire/wheel diameter.
I think it may end up being fairly expensive, but certainly feasible. I'm afraid you may have to replace the complete door panels, as I'm not sure just the brown part will have separate part numbers for purchase? You'll have to see what the parts counter people can figure out.
When I saw the...
So maybe the 3/4 Floater is a real thing...

Anyone driving a pick-up around corners hard enough to notice a handling difference between 18s and 20s should have bought a Mustang instead.
And what you lose in handling by going to a taller less stiff sidewall is offset by the reduction in unsprung weight that is easier for the shocks and...
Thanks for the insight Tim. I've had several camper friends tell me I'll need a weight distributing hitch. I almost added the trailer TPMS system to my truck order, but when I researched it I learned all they do is put the box with the accessories in the truck at the factory, and you still have...
What kind of trailer do you have? That will be my next purchase, would really like an enclosed trailer to tow my Evo to track events, but not sure I can get an enclosed trailer + a 3500 lb car + tools and tires and such in under the 12,400 limit. It might be close, and I really don't want to...
Are you running 20" or 22" wheels? If so, sell those wheels and tires and get some 17" or 18" wheels with taller sidewall tires. Most trucks with 20" wheels or larger pay a ride penalty for the bling.
If shocks are the way you want tp go, Bilstein are very good shocks. I would get ahold of...
Man, I had the Pontiac version of this, a 1997 Grand Prix GTP. I loved that car. I'd still be driving it today if it hadn't got totaled in 2008. I still shop these on cars.com and various other places, thinking I'd love it as a cheap daily driver to rack up miles in, but they are so old now...
That link led me to a video of a red KR with the chrome package, which means it has to be a 601A, because you cannot get the chrome package on the 600A. Maybe you have to get the Co-Pilot360 Active2.0 Prep Package to get the front sensors? I'm shocked they're not standard.
Tim, I retracted much of this information the other night, as the more research I did, the less I believed my original source. My retraction is on page 1 of the thread.
I think the 9.75" Max Tow axle is just a normal semi-floating design, and not some cross between semi-floating and...
Without seeing the door jamb stickers I cannot say for sure. It certainly will have a higher Rear Axle Weight Rating, which could allow it to have a higher GVWR, and thus a higher payload, and a higher tongue weight capacity, but it also will weigh more than the 8.8" standard axle, so it's a...
More research on the F-150 9.75" axle makes me think the original source I found was incorrect. I now believe the 9.75" Max Tow Axle is just a normal semi-floating axle. It does have larger diameter axles and a larger ring gear than the 8.8 standard axle, but it is not a "3/4 Float" as...
Yeah, that was a little technical, but I'm an engineer, and I knew all about semi-floating and full-floating axle designs, but I had never heard of this 3/4 float, so I had to do the research, and what good is doing the research if you don't share it with friends (preferably over a beer).
But...
