  1. Towing capacity of 2021 F150

I don't think it was, the first I saw of it was on the production updates, where it listed the Max Tow axles on constraint as a 3/4 Float Axle. A little internet research shows it is a 9.75" ring gear with a different pumpkin shape that is easy to distinguish from the standard axle. Apparently a...
  2. Effects of lift / oversized tires on Powerboost or Co-Pilot 360

I would assume a 2" level is probably going to be fine on a PowerBoost truck, but that is total speculation. As is my assumption that a 4" lift would be too much and cause problems. No one will know for sure until someone has a truck in their hands to measure. In general, if modifications are...
  3. Effects of lift / oversized tires on Powerboost or Co-Pilot 360

The other X-Factor for a lift on a PowerBoost truck is that the transmission is pushed back / longer to wedge the electric motor and clutch between the transmission and torque convertor. This means the rear driveshaft is already shorter, and at a more severe angle to the rear differential...
  4. 2021 F150 - Substituting / Replacing OE spare tire

With these sizes, the primary wheel/tire total diameter measures 32.99" and the spare is 32.61". While I wouldn't run it in 4A with the spare on, because equal tire sizes are critical in AWD, but I think Ford has specd out a small enough difference to not have o worry about the difference in 2...
  5. Option 54W Powerfolding, Powerscope, telescoping trailer towing mirrors

Perhaps I wasn't clear, I don't want to replace the whole mirror, I just don't know how the caps are attached/installed. If pulling the chrome caps off is going to leave some unsightly mess, then I'll leave them alone. Replacement mirrors cost a fortune. If these are truly just caps, then...
  6. Option 54W Powerfolding, Powerscope, telescoping trailer towing mirrors

Yeah, I wonder if the Chrome Caps can either be removed, or replaced with body color caps. I've seen current F-250/F-350 with these mirrors in three versions, black uncapped, body color capped, and chrome capped.
  7. Do I need 20" wheels to get the maximum tow rating?

From the 2021 Order Guide the only 18" wheels not allowed are the 18" chrome-like PVD wheels. I know the 2020 Order Guide did list this note: NOTE: Max GCWR/Max Tow only achieved on SuperCrew® equipped with 20” Wheels. These trucks will also come equipped with max springs, steering gear and...
