No, it worked. Started the climate at least. I assume it's the same as pressing the start button in the cab without your foot on the brake, but I didn't test it in detail since I don't plan to actually use that fob.
It would be nice if somebody made a fob with both the remote start and frunk...
Any recommendations for high flow cabin filters that won't break the bank? I'm guessing the cheapest possible one I can find would probably also have the highest flow because less material?
I'm OK with trading off filter performance for AC performance for the couple of months of warmish weather...
Yeah that low current shutoff pretty much defeats the purpose of the "pro power on while truck is off" feature, from what I've been reading here. If you actually want power to stay on you have to leave the truck on.
Yep. Huge annoyance. Especially since there is a setting specifically under Cruise Control where Lane Keeping is set to OFF. But it still turns on.
It's bordering on a safety issue since it requires a lot more attention to find the small lane keeping button and then confirm that it is off...
I don't think it's a software fix. The problem is that certain module updates require the external power supply so they cannot be done OTA. Unless software can disable whatever it is that draws so much power during the updates. I would assume that is some kind of fail safe when communications...
Looks like the smoke is coming from the frunk initially. That's what I thought from the first photo too. I wonder if it was cargo that caught fire. Will be very interested to hear the post mortem.
Facebook comments are very predictable.
If it was the battery, I kind of hope it was a truck...
Isn't it great how technology makes our lives so much easier? ?
Sorry I don't have any tips on coercing the FCSP to update. Mine is still sitting in the box while I happily use my dumb charger lol. Maybe it needs a better network connection (2.4 vs 5 GHz or something).
All I have are...
The word "precondition" is used for both the cabin and the battery, although they are completely separate things. I think that's the biggest confusion. I wish there was a better word used for preparing the cabin.
No it is Windows software. It might run OK on an Intel Mac running Windows, but can't confirm that personally. I bought a cheap Windows laptop to run it.
iOS OBD dongles are a whole different story. iOS compatible there means Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) as opposed to the original higher powered...
I've had this several times. My current hypothesis is that it happens when the state of charge is just right so the truck can't quite decide whether it can finish within the charge window or not. If it decides not, it starts right away when plugged in, and my hypothesis is that causes the truck...
I don't think that's the point. The point is that it's a symptom of the malaise of development coming from the big three. This is really low hanging fruit and they can't even do that. How can anyone expect them to compete with people who are actually pushing the boundaries?
I believe in the...
They make it sound good but I'm pretty sure this changes nothing about how updates roll out. It just gives you an interface in the app to adjust the same things you can in the truck on the Settings -> Software Updates screen.
Lightning only draws 12 amps on 120 volts. The wire in the wall is 14 gauge. Bigger wire wouldn't hurt but I doubt that's the problem.
I wonder if there is a charging location enabled. With my truck, if I have a charging schedule and the state of charge is just right, the truck can't decide...
Yep. When I had this done I begged and pleaded them to make sure the power supply was hooked up correctly. The update did complete but my 12V was in the 30% range afterwards so I have my doubts they did.
The fundamental problem is that range isn't a quantity that can be measured. To accurately measure it you would have to predict the future driving conditions. Obviously that's impossible.
The truck doesn't know if you're going to be driving 90 MPH into a head wind up a mountain, or putt-putting...
That's the nice part about all this. We can argue until we are blue in the face. But at the end of the day, both modes are awesome with great efficiency ? Well. As great as possible when driving a brick.
