  1. Overheating after one DC fast charge?

I drive my truck in Sport mode once the temperature goes above 95 here in Central California which alleviates overheating. I’ve had your scenario happen once while DC charging when it was 115. This was before I used Sport mode.
  2. Edmunds 3 year Lightning review

I need to read their other reviews to figure out how they got 345 miles on a single charge.
  3. Ford issues more safety recalls in 6 months than ANY auto company has in a YEAR

Yep, I’m actually living this article. My wife’s Lincoln has two open recalls with parts being available sometime this fall. These are on top of the 2 recalls which have already been resolved. It’s an annoyance but still prefer driving Fords over anything else. :)
  4. Tire replacement @ what mileage?

My truck came with General Grabbers. I got 57k miles out them. I was very pleased as I wanted to get at least 50k out of them. I went with my ā€œgo toā€ tire: Michelin Defenders. I’ve noticed I’m getting .1-.2 kWh better mileage than with the grabbers.
  5. Poll: Interest in a charging service to help stranded drivers

You can add me to the ā€œneitherā€ category as well. Sorry, I don’t have the time to provide charging for someone else and I plan accordingly so I don’t run out of battery.
  6. Portable Charger

I also have the Ford mobile charger that came with my ā€˜22 and experience the exact same charging scenario. I think it’s the Ford charger as every time I notice the kWh drop to 3.7 the charger no longer has a solid blue light but half blue and half amber.
  7. PU-DDM-24.11.5 & 25.12.0 Smoother Window Closing

Updated today and now my front motor isn’t giving any power. I haven’t had problems with that in probably 30k miles…
  8. Question for California drivers...

My tags renew next month at $1,024. It’s due to the weight of the vehicle and being charged a flat rate for gas tax. I don’t mind as I drive 50k plus miles a year so California has lost a ton of gas tax revenue from me.
  9. New BlueCruise Version 1.4 - Rollout IPMA-24.204.10.9

My nearest quick lane refuses to do anything to my Lightning. I’m told to go talk to the service department which the service department disputes that quick lane won’t work on them. Pretty sure I’m just given the runaround.
  10. Late Birthday Present from my son.

Might have been late but worth the wait! That’s really nice. Congratulations. :)
  11. Customizing all profile photos

I can’t get this to work. I keep getting a ā€œProcess interrupted. Please try again. Avoid using vehicle until the process completes.ā€ Will it take a couple of minutes for the picture to appear under the profile photo section? For reference: I do not have multiple contacts in my phone, my phone...
  12. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

Again, I’m not going to get into more specific numbers but a lot more than you assume. I work in the top 3 ag producing counties in America by gross receipts. They contribute over $24 billion dollars annually to the economy. It takes a lot of guys in a lot of trucks playing a part to bring all...
  13. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

I don’t have specific numbers but you’re communicating with someone who does. I’ve put 40k on my Lightning in 10 months and another 10k on my ICE F-150. There are too many PCAs, field men and chemical applicators who put 60k plus a year on a pickup. These people want a truck that they can get in...
  14. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

There are a lot of pick up trucks used in California agriculture and most wouldn’t dream of making the switch with anything below a 200kw. Battery size is a much bigger complaint among my peers than any perceived EV hatred.
  15. Am I the only one that keeps forgetting that I have a Frunk?

I have the opposite problem as I go between using my Lightning and my ICE F-150. I’m always grumbling about all the junk I have to put in my backseat that’s normally in my trunk.
  16. What's the verdict on purchasing a "buyback" lightning (from those that have done so)?

Yes it was the Ford PremiumCare EV plan with a $100 deductible. I paid $2,450. Probably can get it cheaper if you shop around but I’m a resident of CA where I can’t purchase out of state warranty coverage unless I’m actually purchasing a vehicle.
  17. What's the verdict on purchasing a "buyback" lightning (from those that have done so)?

I can verify that service records do carry over to the next owner. The previous owner had his truck into a Ford dealer about 2 and 1/2 hours away from me several times while he had it while it hasn’t graced the doors of a Ford dealership once since I’ve owned it. :)
  18. What's the verdict on purchasing a "buyback" lightning (from those that have done so)?

I love mine! I bought it last April with 7k miles on the odometer. It now has 47k and it has been a reliable truck just like every other F-150 I’ve owned. It came with the remaining factory warranty plus I purchased a Ford extended warranty with an additional 75k miles. I also got the remaining...
  19. Buy Backs and Lemon Law Trucks Where mine went:

I purchased a Ford PremiumCare EV plan with an extra 75,000 miles/48 months with my buyback. It has a $100 deductible.
  20. Liking my Lightning... 100K mile trucks?

My ā€˜22 just turned over 47k miles with no problems :) I’m still driving my ICE truck as well as not to run up the miles quite as quick. I plan on putting over 300k on this truck just like I have done with my ICE F-150s.
