I too have an XLT with the 360 Assist package. I've been curious as to what additional hardware is needed to bump it to an active package. We already have what I'm assuming is most of the hardware, and I'm fairly certain my rear view mirror has a camera that looks at me suspiciously (to...
Personally I just have it set all the time since I work from home and I live in an apartment complex. It does invoke peace of mind. Push notifications buzz my Apple Watch.
My friend, let me encourage you to download Forscan.
The double honk made me embarrassed at the quiet campsite that was my first trip in my Powerboost. The moment I got home I set up forscan on an old laptop and overnighted an odlink adapter and I turned that stupid honk right off.

Honestly you're the first person I've read who's confirmed that this thing will work for those of us with the 2.4 kw system. Awesome, thank you for posting!
The media is just mining this study for sound bites, and people who can't be bothered to actually read the study but like to dunk on EVs are using the sound bites to justify their own biases.
The actual study isn't just for individual consumers, it's for large manufacturers and dealers. The...
Sorry I meant that as a silly joke.
I find the source of "We Predict" to be something to be skeptical of. They are a privately owned startup that employs less than 40 employees, and all the press releases were extremely tight on any actual, raw information that they are using.
To be fair, my...
The Venn Diagram of people who say "EVs bad, ICE good" and "Ecoboost V6 bad, V8 good" without being prompted or asked by anyone has to have some significant overlap.
Also:
I wish I could have used "I predict" as a valid source for every research paper I've ever done. That would have made...
I want to know if the range extender that they patented last year is an official thing that you can optionally order with the lightening in the foreseeable future. Here:

I have the 2.4 on mine...when it comes for me to get an RV, I'm going to get one of these too and see if that helps:

Might be cheaper and less of a pain than trading in for a whole new truck, especially today.
I work for a tech company that is light on patch notes. Drives me bonkers too, and I work for them! Hard to tell customers what changed when Dev keeps it close to their chest.
This is more of a company philosophy type thing. Ford's software division doesn't want others getting too nosey...
Hybrid battery packs are heavy. I absolutely believe that the battery alone is probably 500lb by itself. Also the added weight of the additional cooling the battery system needs should also be considered.
I have a Powerboost, and under generator mode when the engine is running, it's running at a much lower output than it would if it was straight up idling.
The "other" F150 forums some users have reported that running it overnight will work fine, but is also expensive in terms of gas...
Documentation from Apple is not at all very clear, although their FAQ does specifically say that in order to enjoy truly lossless audio, you need to be on the USB adapter.
The fact that they don't specifically say that it won't work via Wireless Carplay, and the fact that everywhere I can...
IDK, I've read more than one account on a couple of RV forums talking about RV Hookups that either have a bad ground or are non functional. Maybe it's less common than I thought, but if your towing range is roughly 100 - 150 miles, I'd want to be damn sure I had some kind of backup plan.
One thing I want to point out is that I would NOT want to rely on an unknown RV site's 50 amp hookup when it comes to power for getting home. Those things aren't always going to be reliable, and if you drove away more than half of your range to get there and there's something wrong with that...
I seriously expect the aftermarket do develop something like an 80 amp generator you can put into the bed of the truck as a "range extender" to help plug the gap in towing distance and also provide some peace of mind.
