I don't know why the sales people don't explain this before the purchase. They would have a lot more content customers and I doubt that the truth would be a deal breaker.

I doubt this would be a reoccurring thing. It was either assembled wrong or one of the parts they are replacing was machined wrong. Either way both possibilties will be solved by the repair.
I usually get between 1.6 and 1.8 on the freeway under normal conditions , using heat or a/c. Under ideal conditions 2 to 2.2. Mostly 65 to 70. Hopefully the headwind will be a tail wind on the way back.
It is not uncommon for rear brakes to wear faster on a pickup. It has been that way on several of mine in the past. They are out of warranty, you have already had two opinions. Free rotors is a good deal.
I have used the early and late versions of the a2z as well as the ford piece. The early recalled a2z was a bit of a pain to lock in place. The ford and new a2z are about the same. It could have been my imagination but I thought the ford unit got warmer after a short charge.
