From PTS this morning. Notice it says it's still an Advance Notice. No dealer should be trying to do this until the full bulletin has been released (around the middle of May).
...and your sig says you have a '23 model? You should already have had WAL. Only early build '22 models (like up to June of 2022) needed the BCM and APIM update to enable WAL. I'm wondering where things went wrong on your truck. It's possible that the BCM has the correct software but the WAL...
Well that's not actually the problem with WAL programming right now....the actual problem (aside from the fact that your dealership doesn't want to do the update for free) is the fact that the ability to perform a BCM software update (or PMI) has been removed from the FDRS tool the techs use...
FDRS does update the cloud server when an update is performed. The tech likely ran the verification after doing the updates and copied the code it provided into the verification form in PTS.
It doesn't take a month. It takes seconds to clear the recall...what makes the process take longer on...
Well It's now the morning of the 25th and there is no update on this as was promised (see above). So '22/'23 Lightnings are still not able to get scheduled for repair yet.
Yeah that was the idea. But I had to actually go out there and tell it to "Update Now" to get things started. I thought it might connect to the mothership while it was in climate mode...but I guess not.
He had to enter a pin....? I wonder what that was about? I still have that ACM update in my list. I just ignore it now. But on the other hand my truck does not have an outstanding recall for the ACM module anyway (24U14). Just a ACM module in my list of available software that won't go away.
I've had my Bedrug so long I really can't remember what version it is. It covers the whole bed including the tailgate and has the closed cell foam sections on the underside that fit into the bed and cushion the load and make the floor flat. After a disastrous experience with a paint-to-match...
You won’t even have to go back in all probability. Once it’s announced on PTS that techs can now apply the update the SA can go to the FSA verification located under the Diagnostics menu and click the verify button to get the code and put that in the required section to clear the recall.
Ummm yeah. I have.
And there's a difference between software that is physically available to download and apply using FDRS,....and Ford not telling techs that it's okay to apply those updates now to satisfy 25C69.
The software updates are to the PCM and SOBDMC (AKA rear motor resolver...
There is even a service tool routine in FDRS for the BCM module to correct the 12V battery charging settings back to what they're supposed to be in the event that somebody (using FORScan, I assume) has tweaked the settings inappropriately. It's listed under the Programmable Settings tab in FDRS.
Regarding the whole FTCP ('Mannequin' demo/service date issue)...On my '23 GT Mach-E it got put in to FTCP purgatory for 60 days by accident (I expressed an interest to my salesman to trade my '21 model in, and I was literally 24hrs too late, as the '23 model had already gotten put on the...
So I did the update...but the software verification afterward errored (not the actual update process, that went fine)....and it's pretty obvious why; 1) Ford hasn't announced that the software is available for '22/'23 models yet (even though it's shown in PTS and FDRS, and 2) since it hasn't...
12 Mar 26 is that day apparently. Logged in this morning and voila there's a PCM and SOBDMC update waiting to get applied to my '22 model. So once it warms up a bit (say around noon), I'll get the gear out and knock that out and try the FSA verification to see if these are the two files that...
Well the Wolfbox mirror problem finally pushed me over the edge yesterday....just couldn't handle it anymore (that's my story and I'm sticking to it), I traded the Expedition in on a '24 Bronco Heritage 2Dr yesterday morning.
