  1. F150 Lightning Tour - Denver

I'm not sure there's any rhyme or reason to who they email. I reserved on announcement night and I did receive an email, but only for the Pro/Fleet event. I'm not a fleet buyer, and I intend to purchase an XLT, so I have no idea why they put me in that bucket. When it came time to reserve a spot...
  2. Dog Mode for the Lightning?

^This^ “Camping Mode” is fine, because you’re right there to take action if something goes wrong. But do not leave your pets in a car unattended. No, not even “for a few minutes” and not even on “Dog Mode.” One process malfunctions, and you’re literally cooking Fido. Rule of thumb: if you...
  3. Spare Tire Placement Design

Interesting point. I hadn't thought of the "rock in the way" angle, but then I'm not an off-roader. This illustrates the different markets for the vehicles, and how that influenced design. As an "adventure vehicle," the Rivian really is designed more for off-roading than for hauling, despite...
  4. Spare Tire Placement Design

I agree with @SteffanG - the F-150's spare location is known from the ICE version, is in a location that would otherwise be wasted space, and can be easily accessed even when there is a load in the frunk and the bed. Moving it to the frunk would eliminate all of those benefits and reduce frunk...
  5. What will be your first F-150 Lightning upgrades?

    The Worksport website (worksport.com) doesn’t appear to be working today - which isn’t confidence-inspiring - but here’s a review: https://insideevs.com/news/441787/worksport-introduces-terravis-solar-truck-tonneau-cover/
  6. The Alpha WOLF™ Electric Truck

I know you were joking, but these guys are finally gonna do it! https://www.aviationtoday.com/2021/09/02/nasa-begins-first-evtol-test-aam-campaign-joby/
  7. Had to cancel reservation

Best wishes with your expenses/repairs. Sorry you got the crap end of the stick. :(
  8. The Alpha WOLF™ Electric Truck

The nostalgic look is very intentional. Look at their coupe. It taps into classic styling, too. I would agree that "Wolf" is a silly name, especially when paired with the company name.
  9. Ford Will Build 15K Lightning in 2022, 80K+/yr by 2024

From what I hear it's pretty good up front, a little small in the back. https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2022-rivian-r1t-electric-pickup-truck-interior-review/
  10. The Alpha WOLF™ Electric Truck

Alright, fine. I’ll reserve one of these, too.
  11. Ford Will Build 15K Lightning in 2022, 80K+/yr by 2024

Personally, I’m hoping that number was leaked to lower expectations and get folks who are only casually interested to drop their reservation and get their $100 back (and to discourage new reservations). Hopefully, the real production numbers will be higher, but Ford just doesn’t want us to know...
  12. What Questions Do You Have? (I'm attending the Event tomorrow.)

I got busy at work and wasn’t able to reserve until a couple of hours after the reveal. Yet I got this email on 8/5 as well. I don’t think it means ordering is imminent. It just says “this fall.” That could be anywhere between 3 weeks from now and 4 months from now.
  13. Clarification on Tax Credit

I'm aware of the "don't loan the government money tax free" argument, but it was made back when interest rates were something. Nowadays the difference between an interest free loan and an interest bearing loan of $7500 for a year is less than what we've all loaned Ford interest free for our...
  14. Clarification on Tax Credit

I understand now. He's trying to say that if you already know your tax liability is $7500 or more, you should reduce your withholding to the point where you'll owe $7500 when filing. Then the EV tax credit would wipe out that tax bill, you'll owe $0, and you won't have loaned Uncle Sam $7500...
  15. Clarification on Tax Credit

Tax liability has nothing to do with how much you’re withholding from your paycheck. PLEASE don’t take tax advice from randos on an EV truck forum - not even from people who have bought EVs and gone through the process before. Don’t make any changes that will affect your tax liability until you...
  16. What Questions Do You Have? (I'm attending the Event tomorrow.)

Yes, the batteries are liquid cooled.
  17. Clarification on Tax Credit

I get it, but I'm just making clear that by the time our F-150s are available, that may or may not be the case. It may be fully refundable, or it may not even exist any longer. No sense in planning for just one possibility when the possibilities are in complex flux.
  18. Clarification on Tax Credit

It's a bit premature to be giving tax advice when none of us even know what year we'll be getting our Lightnings yet, let alone what will be happening with EV tax credits at the time. The Democrats' reconciliation package currently proposes changing the credit amount to $12,500 for the...
  19. Ford Will Build 15K Lightning in 2022, 80K+/yr by 2024

Short answer: nobody knows. Reservation numbers are not sequential, and also include all other Ford vehicles that can be ordered online. What matters more is your timestamp. If you reserved on the night of the reveal, you're probably okay.
  20. FORD - Why aren't you communicating with the first 15,000 timestamps?

Right there with ya. 2001 Tacoma here. I can’t wait to step fully into the 21st Century. As it is, I’m just dipping a toe.
