Absolutely true. These EPA tests are setup for California ranges, not below freezing ranges. When it's winter time I get right around 1.0 mi/kwh, I know you guys further south won't ever understand that.
My only knock on the Lightning is my percentage loss at below freezing is worse than my...
How did you park in Batavia? I always pull in to the furthest left spot sideways, which blocks no one behind me. That spot has always been open, not sure you'd fit anywhere else?
Used vehicle prices came crashing down. It is what it is.
It would be nice if the same happened to flights, hotels, groceries, event tickets, or any of the other stuff I enjoy. I think the reason the used vehicle depreciation stings a lot of people so much is everything else is still...
Do forget to check your adapters for bed bugs.

One time when I was making a turn in a parking lot, the truck started to accelerate very quickly. It was startling (tbh it scared the sh!t out of me) and I had to slam on the break, thankfully no one was in front of me. My hand had hit the cruise button while making a turn, this made the truck...
I love how the CT is still "estimated" price too. I wonder what kind of shenanigans are still left in the pricing process? I am also curious about wheel options, I assume there will be at least two.
It would be pretty great if Tesla kept the FSD charge the same as it was when the reservation...
While I'm happy we have Americans employed at these companies, I don't know if we can say "just as American."
Part of why I bought my Tesla is it was the most American car you could purchase, based on where its parts were made and where it was put together. A lot of people don't care, which is...
Somehow Elon's presentation skills have regressed, he performed terribly during this reveal. Considering this was years in the making, it shouldn't have been uncomfortable to watch. Say what you will about Farley, but he never looked that bad.
I say all of this as someone who really likes...
I do wonder how high you can set the CT to drive at highway speeds? I almost bought a Model S because air suspension, but it can only lift to a height I need for winter snow clearance when driving at very low speeds (15mph?). Can I drive down the highway at 75mph in a CT with my suspension...
I leave at random times, so no preconditioning. I do get the climate going before I leave, so that might have a small benefit. Mostly highway driving, I'd say with mixed 40mph local + 65mph highway I'd be averaging 55mph. My 2022 model has no heated seats, that theoretically gets new buyers...
If I were spending $90k-$100k on a truck, the only option that makes sense is the highest trim CT. The Platinum F-150 genuinely doesn't make sense to me.
With that out of the way, if I was spending $60k on a truck, you'd have to be insane to buy a CT, the Lightning blows it away. Since this...
I was one of the earliest owners of a XLT SR in one of the harshest winter cities in America. I let everyone know my truck consistently got under 100 miles of range on 90% charge on the coldest days. Everyone said I was crazy, but here we are.
I thankfully drive around 80 miles at most on the...
I had to stop and charge to complete a 144 mile trip with average temperature in the low 30s. 2022 XLT SR, started with 98% charge, would've died about 10 miles from my house if i didn't top off. I get about 110 miles of range dead of winter, about 50% of stated range.
The last few vehicles I bought all had official ornaments. I'm very excited that I added the Lightning ornament to my collection, it's a ton of fun putting these on the tree.
Now I just need Hallmark to produce a 1993 Plymouth Sundance, so I can get my first car proudly on display as well...
I've tried every suggestion on here for six months, nothing stopped the thousand chimes I get when I drive. Most of the time I turn off my phone to save my sanity.
I agree with all the posts here, you should be fine with the truck. I've hauled large loads regularly and I see little to no drop in range.
However, you're lucky you are in a warm location. In the winter I get down to about 100 miles of range in my XLT SR, that would be a challenge for a crew...
Pros for Resale
- MY22 prices were much lower, anyone who bought at original MSRP has to be feeling good.
- The truck has reviewed very well. Even if stuff comes out that's better, it doesn't change the fact this is a very nice truck and people will want it.
- Other than long range towing, the...
The Silverado would be a Lightning killer near me, if they pumped them out in any sort volume at the hinted at prices. I just don't see it happening, based on what Chevy has been able to produce to date. I'd love to see Silverado even at Bolt level production, because I'm all about more EV...
