  1. What to buy with FordPass Points?

I applied my points from 2 fords to a set of new tires!
  2. Ford Lightning review by The Car Care Nut on YouTube

And, he criticized the tailgate, but didn’t mention that some models do have a power tailgate.
  3. Shifter clicking after being put into park and shutting the truck off

Are you getting the wrench indicator and/or service message. My 23XLT shifter was replaced in recall, and is acting up again. Parts is back ordered. My truck at 45k is now out of warranty, but I’m going to just assume this is a continuation of the recall. Ford has ordered a different part...
  4. New to EV. Trying to decide between SR and ER to keep 200k+ miles with 100 mile daily commute.

It’s all about the money. If an ER is available and the price is within reason, buy it. The first time you suddenly have to drive 200 miles in a hurry, you will be so glad!
  5. Looking to put together what's needed for a charger install

Also, put a 100 amp sub panel in your garage. Then you have options without going back to your main panel in your house. You can easily add a second EV charger or add a 220v plug that you can plug a portable charger into.
  6. 2025 Lariat Trim rear drivers side top seat fold down

I tied a string on the inside of the part you circled and tied the other end of the string to the headrest. So all I have to do is pull the string to release the back.
  7. Lightning Commuter 88 miles a day KWh chart December 2024-July 2025.

I see you got new tires at 40k miles. This is a picture of my tires at 44k miles. These are Goodyear’s. Makes no sense, why some tires wear so much better than others.
  8. Where’s the savings!!!!

The last thing I’m concerned about when traveling is the cost of a charge. For me it is always about the location, convenience, and speed. Less than 10 percent of my travel is fast charging, so what ever the cost, it has little affect on my total cost. I’ve come to favor Tesla over EA, but also...
  9. New Mexico OEM Gear Selector/Shifter ($115 Shipped)

Exactly what rotary switch did you use? I ordered the plastic housing, but I’m still not sure what switch.
  10. To repair or not repair

Does anyone know the exact Ford rotary switch I need to order? I see two different switches, the mounting holes appear to be different. (I did order the plastic mounting.) I’ve had the problem a couple months now and my truck is out of warranty so I’m guessing if I take it to Ford it will cost...
  11. Looking for a replacement charge port door badge

I don’t remember exactly how much, but way more than I thought it was worth. I do remember that I kept googling on internet and finally got a part number (color match). Then I googled the part number to get a “best” price. But most importantly, assuming the parts on truck are not broken, remove...
  12. A couple of buying questions...

I have a MME er and a Lightning er. Even though I rarely need the extra range, the few times I do, I am so thankful I have it.
  13. Looking for a replacement charge port door badge

I had exactly the same situation. I got the part number googled it and found the complete door. When I got the part, I removed the cover from the new part and installed it on the door that was on the truck. I put the rest of the new part on a shelf in the garage!
  14. Scary charging error on roadtrip at EvGo, red light on ring and could not charge anywhere

I had exactly the same experience at an EVgo charge. I tried a Tesla charger but same problem. I drove to a dealer and the reset they system and everything has been fine. They said the EVgo charger caused the problem.
  15. Test

Yea, I was thinking “Appalachian” was miss spelled when I clicked post, but it just wasn’t that important to me. People in the Rockies wouldn’t even recognize them as mountains anyways!
  16. Test

Even in the east the affects of elevation make Ford’s nav stupid sometimes. I was on the Pennsylvania Turnpike headed east gradually climbing the Appellation mountains and suddenly the nav started telling me I didn’t have enough charge and I need to do something. But I knew once I reach the top...
  17. Charging process has a mind of its own

65k on MME and 41k on Lightning. Yea, I am moving into the great unknown.
  18. Charging process has a mind of its own

You guys make life so difficult. By driving electric I’m already saving a bunch. By only charging to 80 percent the big winner is Ford so they don’t have to replace a battery under warranty. I plug in and charge when it is most convenient for me and I charge to 100% every time, because I need...
  19. Bittersweet traded in the lightning for power boost

Yea, it’s funny, the Lightning pulls the weight fine, even better, it’s the loss of range that kills the feasibility!
