Talked to my dealer today. The truck arrived in their lot around noon but my salesman said that he isn't allowed to let me have it until they charge it to 100%, so I cant pick up until tomorrow :cautious:
Oddly enough, I added the truck to my Ford pass app a few days ago and someone clicked the...
just got an email saying that i'm all set to complete my purchase, and tracker is showing the "final preparation" stage, so I guess that means that it is at the dealer.
I tried to complete my purchase online through Ford's website, but no matter what amount I put for my down payment with Ford...
My estimated delivery date got moved back for a 5th time.
But now also the public tracker says I'm back to "order confirmed" stage. Not sure what that means...
The end range of my delivery dates went
5/15 --> 5/17 --> 5/22
I talked to my salesman as well as my Ford ambassador last Thursday when it still showed by 5/15, and both of them said they can only see what I can see on Ford's website so they had no other info to provide.
My estimated delivery date has been pretty much getting moved back every few days. Originally said by today, then moved to by Wednesday, and just now it updated to between tomorrow and next Monday.
my status is still "built" but now I'm seeing estimated delivery of 5/9 - 5/15. I wonder if I will get it this weekend? My dealer is less than a 5 hour drive from the factory.
yeah having to deal with their buyback process sounds like it really sucked. A major blunder on their part for sure. I wonder if they would have stepped up their game if there was actual competition at the bolt's pricepoint in the EV market.
tesla is able to get away with those extreme price increases because the tesla cult allows it. Just like how people continued to pay 10k for fake promises (which were clearly fake at the time) around their FSD. There are the hardcore loyalists in every brand, but tesla loyalists are a different...
What's weird to me is that the stripped down (and presumably much lighter) work truck has a 1200 lb payload capacity, but the loaded SRT is over 1300lb.
This is the opposite that we see on the lightning where loading up with features makes you lose 600lb or so of payload.
It makes me wonder...
Yep, 100%. I will likely order a 2023 Lariat SR for the price of a 2022 Lariat ER. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Part of my original reasoning for making this thread was to find out why some folks have the sentiment that the Silverado EV "isn't a real truck" or "can't do as many truck things...
Interesting take. I definitely see them keeping the midgate as a competition-differentiator, but I'm not sure if we would see range that low. We at least know that they are planning on offering the fleet work truck as a 400+ mile range trim, so perhaps they will have a similar strategy to ford...
what do you think Chevy will remove for an 80k trim? 2025 is a realistic expectation, and there will also be even more competition in 2025 than today. We will probably see a RAM EV, more rivian offerings, a cyber truck, and maybe even other startups like Canoo in 2025. I'd say that there's a...

Ford is #1 on vehicles affected by recalls this calendar year. Ford is also behind Chevy on jd power reliability ratings.
Do you remember how Ford recently had to recall mach Es for their windshields and sunroofs being improperly attached...
Agreed, and I personally think too many auto manufacturers get lazy with their interior designs over time. Certain brands will come out with something nice, and then not touch it for 10 years while the rest of the industry leaves them way behind.
I think that they handled it terribly tbh. Though I'm sure the replacement batteries (once they figured out the problem) may not have been readily available due to supply chain issues and such, I think they should have offered to buy back all affected vehicles immediately.
I'm hoping that the...
Chevy has a physical mannequin that they have been bringing to live shows and letting a limited number of YouTube channels review/sit inside. But, to your point, they have made it clear that it is a "intent to produce" (or whatever the phrase is) model that comes before pre-production so it very...
well, if Chevy can get a $80k Silverado EV to market before ford releases the next generation redesigned lightning, (and keep the 400mile range and midgate on that trim level) then any undercut would be just a bonus
