Everyone has their own unique use case. I agree with you 100%. For me the extra stop here and there for the few long distance trips I make is well worth the benefits I gain from having an EV. That comment was directed to those that don't feel that way. That for their use case, current BEV's...
I agree with you 100%. Only worse. I don't think it's only Stelantis. Ford was on the right course with the lightning, but they needed to stay the course and improve it year after year. Farley, unfortunately is flip flopping like a fish when it comes to EV's. He did a 180 with his comments...
and you told me I am wrong... Welcome to the internet. That's called a difference of opinion, not elitism.
I am a very practical person. Absolutely, others have changed my mind. In this case, my 11 year experience with an EREV trumps how some dude on the Internet imagines it will be like...
Yes everyone's use case is different. I even said in a post after that, for a very small minority. an EREV may be the right choice for them. What you mentioned as an example is not one of them. So you are saying that the infrastructure around you is not capable to support EV's but for some...
100lbs???? Where did you get that info? From what I know of the truck, it's going to have a 3.6L Penstar V6. That engine alone is over 400lbs, then you have a 27 gallon gas tank, where the fuel alone weighs close to 200lbs. Then you have Oil, cooling, and all the extra components/wires...
LOL... Sorry if you felt attacked. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My intention was not to make you feel bad. A lot of people do think that EREV's are going to be the best thing since sliced bread but fail to understand, that they are not a new concept and have been around for a long...
That makes a billion times more sense. That would open up the market to many more people. Like those that stay around town most of the time but like to travel several times a year. That would make for a great marketing commercial too.
I don't understand the appeal of this at all. EV trucks are great for people that don't do a lot of long distance driving. If that's your use case, you gain, low cost operation, a frunk, etc... There is a huge market for those that don't do long range driving but politics and poor marketing...
There are just too many variables into play to determine a reason why this happened. Were al
WOE... I just want to clarify what you are saying here. I avoid one pedal drive except the odd occasion like a long traffic jam. I heard these types of stories, so I thought, if I stay away from it...
I kind of agree with you and I kind of don't. The market is growing all be it slowly. When I first got my truck, very few seemed to notice. I was at an event this past week where I had to load/unload a bunch of supplies at a big public event. I was unexplicably bombarded with questions and...
It's one of the reasons I went with a platinum over a lariat. I liked the soft touch leather/suede on the doors and the real wood accents. You get what you pay for. Why didn't you go for the platinum? It's still way cheaper than a Cybertruck or Rivian. The Rivian definitely has the nicest...
That would be the beginning of the end of Ford. A big reason sales are down is that there are more options in this truck space. People buying the Silverado and GMC EV's would have went lightning if they did not exist. Shocking of how many are still choosing a lightning over the newer tech GM...
I wish they were trolling us. Unfortunately Ford is really, really, really bad and really, really really slow at software. They don't yet get how important it is and how the lack of progress affects future sales.
Considering Ford has put almost no effort into the lightning for 5 or 6 years (since they first started working on it), the sales numbers are quite amazing. Imagine if they put some effort into it with some refreshes. The only major improvement over the years was the heat pump, other than...
I am more so talking about the technology we have today (not any specific vehicle) and what's needed in the future for mass acceptance. There are some cars that can go 600+ miles so that technology is already here. The Silverado can go close to 500 miles (250 towing). I am not saying that...
And... If you can charge in 15 minutes or less at key spots during a long distance drive, then range isn't an issue either. A 15 minute stop every 300 miles is acceptable for most people. Of course range and range density will improve over the next few decades which is great but I don't think...
Not sure if I agree with you. Not providing info for the fear of getting lemon lawed means you are not confident in your own product. Why would they not have that same fear with ICE trucks? I think you are off on your 20-30 degree ICE normal range. I watched quite a few of TFLtruck torture...
My 10 year old Cadillac tells me if I have low coolant... Also, on Ice vehicles, the temp gauge seems to have more movement to make things noticeable. Many trucks even give you the actual temp numbers. I would even be okay with that.
