Any sort of warranty if it even exists would be only for that one module replaced and I bet it would only be for like a couple of months post install.
The more I see posts like these the more I am looking to offload this truck in 5 years when the warranty is up.
Best game plan is to keep the...
Dealer picked up the truck and just called me to say they have ordered a battery array. They didn't even open or drop the pack. No eta yet but I asked if I can have the truck back while its being shipped since it still drives and charges fine at least up until 88%.
I used car scanner and saw the module variation was 11.71%. Did the same thing this morning 100% down to 90% on the dash but car scanner shows it's 84%. Another note is if you plug in now it says starting charging but never does anything and stays at 90%. Made my appointment the service bulletin...
I will wait it out a few more days like I said the truck is running fine and I typically charge to 90% anyway. I will turn updates back on as well as reconnect the 12v if that works as a good turn it off and on again button.
The ford app has two service visits in March 30th 2026 and April 4th 2025 which list scheduled maintenance and electrical being done. Electrical being vague would they specify something more in detail if it was HVB related?
Used lightning owner here bought it in May of this year with 33k miles now at a little over 36k miles. I typically have been setting a 90% charge limit until three days ago when the truck charged to 100% without me telling it to (But I don't think it was a true 100% as it showed my expect 90%...
I also did finally get the invite as a 5/19 reservation 2 minutes into the presentation. But I wanted to order a truck for $45k max with options/delivery so this is not within the budget. Shame I can't extends and wait on the sidelines, oh well will just have to wait a few years and/or get one...
I will probably be buying a used Lightning or another EV truck down the line then maybe in 5-7 years when they depreciate a bit. Real shame but it was fun to be hopeful for the cheap EV truck.
Very exciting for those who had to wait for 2023+ and helps those between trim levels to consider going higher. Well at least Pro to XLT/XLT+ with the 80k truck limit.
People keep saying there is no market for the battery is flat out wrong. Repurposed EV batteries are the bread and butter for custom off grid homes and for EV conversions. The main thing holding me back from converting my 65 Thunderbird are battery prices for a decent range (100 mi). The more...
This is good news for those who have to wait until 2023+ for an order. First model years always have some sort of unique quirks. I'm sure you can swap a head-unit over later if you really need the android automotive upgrade.
I think longterm (20 years) this first gen will be desirable by being the simplest to repair and upgrade down the road. I mean parts sharing with a vehicle they make 900k of a year and the potential ability to fit in future improved batteries between the frame rails is ideal. If the second gen...
