Hopefully ford takes note of teslas method of manufacturing on the next gen truck. Include hardware/wiring for everything. Up-charge me for things like leather, power and range instead of the old school way of nickel & diming for every little feature like auto-up windows. At the very least let...
not allowed here in bc. bc hydro doesn't allow them due to solid state switching. I don't think they're allowed in Alberta either. maybe stricter standards in Canada? BC also doesn't allow simple generator interlocks. need to go with proper transfer switches here.
UL 1008M is an 'outline of...
fyi - although these are amazingly convenient, they're actually banned in certain jurisdictions due to being a solid state transfer switch. if they ever failed closed they'd pose a pretty significant safety hazard. these collars need to be updated with a heavy duty manual switch.
Simplified home charging
Many fleet drivers take their vans home after shifts, and so will require a charging solution away from the depot. To help operators continue to support drivers following fleet electrification, Ford Pro Charging offers a home charging solution that delivers convenient...
Ugh. I could see a lot of upset employees if we had to drive to and from the office everyday to pick up a truck. Also I’m talking hundreds of trucks so not sure if that’s even possible.
Do ev fast charger fleet cards exist yet? Or we still stuck with dozens of apps?
Yea just curious what others are doing. This is pretty new territory for companies so was just curious if most are handling charging in a similar fashion. My company is just starting to switch our very large fleet to EV. I’ll find out soon enough when my aging truck is replaced.
Curious if anyone here runs a company fleet vehicle that they bring home in the evening.
- are you expected to charge at home or public chargers?
- are the electricity costs reimbursed by the company?
- do you need a specific charger or does the truck log electricity use?
- any downsides of...
they're safer and they'll last longer if you plan on keeping the truck forever. also you can sleep soundly at night knowing there's no cobalt in your truck.
unfortunately all these EV trucks need larger batteries. heat pump should help some but even Tesla, known for efficiency, turned out a range dud with the cybertruck.
