1PD - is it too severe for regen or is it me ? Drove 60 miles yesterday and found 1PD very intrusive...

Having owned several EVs (leaf, i3, model s, ipace, id4, etron) I can tell you, that I don't like the one Pedal driving. They are all variable in their rate of deceleration, and some can be very nauseating for passengers. I have mostly highway and suburban hilly roads, so really like the coasting on the Etron and VW. The etron has a paddle shifter with two levels of regen which I really like, and as soon as you press the go pedal regen turns off. What is really good on the etron is traffic aware regen where it will coast until it senses traffic in front and automatically slows with regen. If you have a stop and go city traffic situation, then 1 PD works for the driver but nauseates the passengers. Understand that the driver is tethered to the steering wheel with his hands everyone else is head bobbing, every acceleration and regen induced deceleration. The e-force tuning offered by the Nissan Ariya is supposed to address this, we'll see.

You are lucky of not having driven other EV vehicles which may help you learn to adapt to Lightning's 1PD.

Coming from a paddle shifting - multi regen selection PHEV, I can say that Ford's 1PD is too abrupt for my tastes.

I can't feather the throttle in a bumper to bumper / stop and go traffic common where I live.

Forget about reversing with 1PD in urban driving!
Might sound weird, but I’m coming from a 2013 Rubicon Unlimited 6-speed manual and I think driving that in 1st gear in traffic might’ve prepared me most for 1PD lol. Seriously.
