That is unfortunate, since that is the kit that I was planning to use. They seemed pretty helpful and upfront when talking to them, so I am glad to hear that I should be a little cautious. No issues, I would not run the brain of the system from airlift (ALP4) outside of the vehicle where it can get water; that will be your only complication of running line and hose somewhere where that can be protected from the weather, 5 gallon tank. The compressors are Viair’s 444. The only real problem I’m having is with Universal Air’s suspension. I do not believe that their struts are built compatible for our vehicle platform. I think that they are under engineered because they are a universal strut for our 7000 pound vehicle that while practical for other applications at a lower weight, it is not for ours. they are working with me and in the process of trying to build me a set that is practical for this platform but I am paying for the R&D. I drive a lot of miles per day(150) and the suspension did not last me three months I had to buy another set from them with more dampening in it at my cost, not sure whether or not they will last another round. Have to wait until they come in and do the install, but the first set is rattling so bad that I do not even wanna drive the vehicle…
I only do about 60 or so miles a day, but I frequently do long drives, and average around 30k a year, so long term durability is a requirement for me.
I am planning to do height sensors, mostly because I want some drop, but I want the flexibility of bringing it back to (mostly) stock ride height as needed for clearance. I hate the floaty ride, and I hoped that the air suspension would be a way out of that, but it sounds like some additional tuning is required....
