Taking a look at the 2021 Towing Guide, I see that there is no mention of any upgraded transmission, engine oil cooler, stabilizer bar, or etc for the F-150. Though these items are listed in the 2020 guide.
I have been trying to figure this out as I am looking at the (17T) Towing Technology Package. If I were to get something like the Max Tow it, will cost an additional ~$1,300. Also it looks like there are some part delays with the max tow. I am looking at the Lariat PB w/ Tow Technology package. From the diagram, the Lariat w/ 17T should have every thing the normal Trailer Tow Package (53B).
On the towing Guide I see the following w/ the disclaimer "5" on the Power Boost:
5 Do not exceed a trailer weight of 7,000 lbs. (3,175 kg) or 36 sq. ft. (3.4 sq. m) trailer frontal area with only the Class IV hitch (53B), without the Trailer Tow Package (53A).
I also see the following:
F-150 PickupFor trailers over 5,000 pounds – Trailer Tow Package (17T, 53A, 53B) or Max Trailer Tow Package (53C)
I am trying to figure out if a Lariat 17T can tow the 11,000lbs and does "5" omit the 17T or is the 2021 chart wrong about the coolers and the Lariat 17T can only tow 7,000lbs? If the 17T can't do it, then I am trying to figure out why? I want to be an educated buyer, also I understand that payload is always a limitation. I have been asking this, though haven't gotten a great answer and if you guys know anyone who would know the answer, please pipe up.
