When designing my truck I did not opt to have Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 Prep (BlueCruice Prep) installed and instead went with the Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0.

However I just received an email from Ford telling me that my truck already has all the necessary hardware installed to use BlueCruise after I recieved the Fall update:

I can only assume that this is just a poorly executed mass market email, as I know for a fact that my truck does not have all the necessary hardware installed since it does not have the driver alertness sensor in the A-piller on the door, nor Active Park Assist installed, both of which seem to be a requirement for BlueCruise to operate.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been given short-lived false hope by getting one of these emails? For a brief moment I wanted to believe it was that easy, but sadly I don't believe that is the case.

Ditto, got the email, no active prep package on my xlt .. says at the bottom there’s a blue cruise prep kit that gives you hardware necessary. Sure sounds like it’s coming but, who knows.

Yeah its definitely a mistake

For F-150, BlueCruise is available as a part of the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0 package for a total of $1,595 – $600 for the software and $995 for the hardware. The Ford Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0 package is standard on F-150 Limited and available as an option on Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum models.

So... can it be added after the fact is you have the assist 2.0?

Maybe they'll have some retrofit, but I bet this was just a mis-targeted email campaign that went to Co-Pilot Assist in addition to Active owners that was only supposed to go to Active owners.

I too have an XLT with the 360 Assist package. I've been curious as to what additional hardware is needed to bump it to an active package. We already have what I'm assuming is most of the hardware, and I'm fairly certain my rear view mirror has a camera that looks at me suspiciously (to fulfill that legal requirement for this kind of software).

Actually the attention sensor that you mention is located in the A-pillar side of the door trim. The piece that covers the mirror attach bolts.

(Picture borrowed from a different thread, as I don't have this installed)

However in addition to that you also need to have the Active Park Assist (or whatever it's called) package installed. So if you don't have the front parking sensors in your front bumper (not to be confused with the Adaptive Cruise Control sensor) or the attention sensor in your door mirror trim panel, Co-Pilot360 Active (BlueCruise) won't work.

I'm sure there is other hardware that is also required, but those are the obvious indicators as to whether or not the required packages are installed.

Front parking sensors are installed. Pretty sure those come with the 360 Assist tech package.

Nope. I have CP360 assist but not Parking assist and I do not have the front bumper sensors.

Interesting. I definitely have the front bumper sensors...4 of them. And 4 in the rear as well. I don't have Parking Assist. I wonder if I'm mistaking something?

I wonder if ford will do a free trial for people who want to try it out first before paying for a subscription for the BlueCruise?

Interesting indeed. I have 502A, Technology Package, CP360 Assist, no parking assist, and I don't have the front parking sensors.

Now I'm wondering if I was supposed to.
